After all these years of waiting I am getting to reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s interpretation of Revelations in the Bible. Yogananda asserts that Genesis, the Gospels and Revelations are the most important parts of the Bible.

After all these years of waiting I am getting to reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s interpretation of Revelations in the Bible. Yogananda asserts that Genesis, the Gospels and Revelations are the most important parts of the Bible.

I have read those interpretations and they are absolutely stunning from the spiritual standpoint. The classic bible is the vestige of a barbarian society in full Kali Yuga.
The beginning of John's gospel is incredible and its mere reading elevates the mind above the material world.
The Revelation needs detailed interpretation and Yogananda, AFAIK, is the only one to have been able to come up with a sensible model.

Thanks for reminding these uplifting readings, I'll have to follow suit.

Quote

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

I don't know why, but the sheer solemnity and truth of those words never ceases to inspire and uplift me.
This is a glimpse into the essence of creation.

Please tell where Masters Revelation commentaries can be found?

Web they are part of the new Kriya set that comes with the SRF lessons. If you have received Kriya from the Self Realization Fellowship I would suggest you contact Mother Center and ask for the 10 pamphlets on the higher Kriya’s plus the pamphlet on Masters interpretation of Revelations that comes with them..

It includes 10 Kriya Initiation Lessons and the Hidden Truth in St. John’s Revelation Lesson 1. I never saw the SRF lessons given in this format until recently. Although for decades I heard that many of his teachings were yet to be published. Then we received; The Second Coming of Christ (The Resurrection of Christ Within You), Krishna Speaks with Arjuna and now the Kriya series which comes with the advanced Kriya lessons; a must for those who love practicing Kriya Yoga.

It becomes more clear to me after a life time practicing Kriya why Paramahansa Yogananda said he was Shakespeare in a previous life. His voluminous writings were tantamount to the gargantuan genius of Willam Shakespeare and his incarnation as Paramahansa Yogananda was an incredible testimony of God’s existence on this planet. It will no doubt be around for centuries to come as the achievements of Jesus have been as well.

I never have applied for the higher kriyas so that might be why I don't have St. John's Revelation? I do have the new Kriya lessons -- 5 in all but a quick perusal doesn't show anything about Revelation.  I have S.C.C and G.T.W.A -- excellent wisdom that will keep me engaged lifelong. I have been planning to apply for the higher kriyas for more than a year now but a nasty accident last year and an on-going illness since last year have held me back. I'll know when the time is right I'm sure. You know how it is...karma...kriya brings it on so I get a little reluctant sometimes even thinking about the higher techniques. Its been a very packed life, to describe myself as a knockabout type would be quite apt!

I know I've read about Master being Shakespeare, I thought that came from Donald Walters and was denied by SRF but I could be wrong on this point, as I often am? Can you tell me where this revelation came from?

Well I specifically asked Brother Bhaktananda if Paramahansa Yogananda was Shakespeare. As you know Bhaktananda was with Paramahansa Yogananda for the last few years of his life on earth. I asked; “Was Paramahansa Yogananda Shakespeare” ? Brother Bhaktananda responded in his slow typical response; “That is what the Master said.” More on Revelation as I read his commentary. It was written by the ‘beloved disciple’ St. John.

I have found that the higher Kriyas add variety and keep my interest up. I’m so fortunate to have so many diverse techniques to inspire my practice.

I was badly injured in an accident last year and had a long time to recuperate. i used the time to step up my meditations and japa, practicing the presence, spiritual study, etc. I was meditating like never before--up to 8 hours a day, most days at least 7. I'd never really appreciated the power of stillness until then. So while I think I understand the attraction to the higher kriyas, I do feel that just the power of first kriya is incredible. Not to mention the preliminary techniques...

What an incredible story! Thanks for sharing. Sometimes the most difficult 😞 challenges in life promote the most progress. I’ve witnessed it also.

Every one is different weboflife; for me …..

I just found that given the go ahead for practicing 64 Kriya daily and an occasional day of 108 kriya’s was a bit much. So I feel fortunate to have a variety of options; higher Kriyas and the IAM meditation. Even the preliminary techniques can seem repetitive in long  meditation periods. Most probably I have a ways to go before being able to focus on that many repetitions in long meditation sessions.

I've never done 108 kriyas. I was getting toward that number but since late last year respiratory problems so its a bit out of reach for me atm. I am going to apply for higher kriyas (Inshallah) and appreciate your take on these techniques. What is IAM meditation?
