God as omnipresence is unaffected by duality. It is only we, the little self, that obstructs this view. God is no cruel task master, he is always giving us what we need- it is only when we decide that our lesson is unfair that we've failed to see the blessings bestowed upon us. Showing the Lord you've learned your lesson most likely means having to experience a trial again only this time, whether by Faith or some other source of inspiration, the outcome would be different. Being stuck in a situation is no different than continuing to fall victim to prenatal habits or pesky samskaras that we are often seeking liberation from.
I do not disagree with what your saying Eric. I wonder if you know that Paramahansa Yogananda actually used to ‘argue’ with God? He just didn’t understand why God would let something’s happen the way they do here on this earth plane.... and I don’t either... so I just ask. I mean I certainly wouldn’t enjoy going thru the (lessons?) that some of his saints went thru. Just don’t understand like for instance Jesus had to suffer such agony and felt that God had left him. Hmmm not looking forward to the tests some of the saints went thru...and why did they have to endure torture and being burned at the stake? Just seems like a strange God we are following sometimes. I doubt that some of these heroic people were unaffected by duality. So where was the compassion of God at these times?
