Subject: “An Awakened Look at Jealousy.”

The Scribe: “It is better to look forward than it is to look back, at least on a more regular basis. You are progressive, all of you, and so it is no great mystery why you are a member of the 11:11 Progress Group. Midwayers, Angels and other Celestials who might have prompted you to become part of these regular lessons knew that you were, that you are and that you will always be progressive.

“You need to almost always be looking forward, but on occasion and just to humor yourself . . . and perhaps Me — the Damascus Scribe — I want you to be looking back in time in the very best way you objectively can manage to regard your very own behavior. Let us say that someone insulted you today. Would you have your fists at ready for an attack on this individual? Would you repay him or her with a derogatory remark? Would you simply smile and shake your head or shrug your shoulders? Would you compliment the offender on his or her own good graces?

“And if you can clearly ‘see’ your behavior, ask yourself how you would have reacted one year ago . . . ten years ago . . . even more. The difference between such reactions is the degree to which you will have grown, matured or bettered yourself. It is a bold measure of the extent to which you have moved forward in the eternal goal of becoming perfect as your Creator-Father is perfect — be honest in your evaluation of this.

“Jealousy, my dear friends, provides one of the very best possibilities for gauging how you may have grown over time. The good fortune of one person is likely to bring on a veritable ‘pang of jalousy’ in another. For an envious individual this can be a very sudden shock as few are prepared to admit to themselves that they may have a jealous streak. Whilst anger is frequently admitted to and often seen as almost acceptable in your culture, jealousy is not.

“Erroneously so, jealousy is often seen as a typically feminine trait or a classic women’s conundrum. Let me asssure you that is not so, for both sexes are approximatly equally beset by the green-eyed monster.

“I advise you to test yourself — only rarely. I am the Damascus Scribe. Always count on me.”

The Scribe: “There are some who call me Sananda, even Lord Sananda. Some call me the Scribe. Why, however, do I prefer the latter over the former? It will be easy for you to understand, for when I worked with your Master, Christ Jesus, in perfect unity (in Damascus), it was then that He came closest to knowing My loving mind — human met divine.

“Personalized is what I became, rather than being fused with a human to gain personality. And I have since been given permanent local universe tasks of great importance to Nebadon. Creature contact, however, is my need. From the most elevated of Deity to the lowest of God-knowing mortals, aloneness can make one feel diminished. We are, all of us, of a common ‘sociable spiritual DNA.’

“Little wonder then that as one’s foundational earth life expires into mansion world existence, mortals carry on with the trend they earlier established. Those who were rather sociable on this planet soon find thermselves belonging to a group and soon after to more than one group to either learn from, or teach to. Those less affable simply take longer, but they will never buck the trend toward greater involvement.

“To belong to a group is to teach and learn. On your steady climb to perfection the behaviors of others — right or wrong — present ever clearer windows into the self with the opportunity to, in both instances, improve your mindset and behavior. Might I suggest that your countless centuries and more on Mansonia and further study worlds will destine you to become a Urantia poster child?

“There is nothing like your involvement with spirituality and mindal challenges to give you an awareness of the shortcomings of the human mind endowments that must function with the electrochemical brain. Beyond your earth life it is all electrical with all aspects of the morontia minds. And of the vastly more advanced angelic mind you will one day inherit.

“I can tell you but little about the angelic mind right now. Suffice it to say it can accurately predict outcomes on scant input. It can ‘bring time forward’ to evaluate circumstances that have not yet occurred. It can look back in time and observe places never visited, but these are minor aspects some of you can achieve today.

“More about what your future minds will do for you waits to be revealed. For now I ask you all to prepare yourself each day to becoming Urantia’s universe graduates. I Am the Damascus Scribe, closer to you than your beckoning call and leaving you My Love.”

Subject: “What Your World Needs Now.”

Message received by George Barnard.

The Scribe: “I have the right title for the discussion we are about to have — What Your World Needs Now — and certainly your world needs love right now and likewise, certainly in time, it will have that. Your world needs to realize that you are, all of you, children of the One and the Same Creator, no other. You are brothers and sisters. You are siblings. You have responsibilities toward each other, yes. At this moment in time you have made progress in some areas, but you have much still to learn and achieve in rather a great number of areas.

“Language is one of the important reasons why there is so much distance between various ethnic groups. With almost 7000 living languages in constant use it is not difficult to ascertain how quite innocent misunderstandings between groups can completely ruin the peace. And from that point of view, the disappearance of marginal and primitive languages must be seen as somewhat progressive — slow but progressive. Think of how at one time the dialects of the next town and the next would mystify you and ultimately muddy intent.

“A primitive world is a world devoid of both religion and spirituality, but perhaps a little rock or tree worship for some and out of fear. But it’s a start. A progressing world is a religious world, often with all manner of ‘must do’ and ‘must not do,’ yes, doctrine born from the ignorant herds and intended crowd control by some. But now you’re finally on your way to glorious, ultra-distant horizons of making your world resemble a part of Paradise. The advanced world is the spiritual world you have begun to create in this Time of Correction — a world of diversity and equality and Thought Adjuster guidance.

“One more thing I wish to bring to your mind, to the minds of our beloved readers and to those further afield: You will need a world government. However, let us understand how this might be composed to be successful. It needs to be democratic in an international way with nations having equal representative standing in their peaceful lording it over all others and there are other considerations.

“As it stands right now, any number of nuclear-armed countries can devastate this entire planet. The hype of anyone being superior to the point of being able to initiate a surprise attack on any other is just that; a hype. It is now time for you to show that you can be siblings and friends and that you have the courage, the insight and the ‘adventure’ to show your Creator that you know about His plans for world peace and conservation and that you will work with Him, for your world sure needs that now.

“Meanwhile always count on Me for the answers you need. I Am the Damascus Scribe.”
