i had a dream last night that may provide insights to my subconscious.

of course, this is the dream world so prepare for some absurdity >_<

i was in my parents backyard following a curious bug digging itself underground and moments later a baby elephant came up from underground with a glowing pinkish forehead.

the elephant was playful and happy. i remember the baby elephant running around playing with my dogs and me snapping photos with the camera

i think this may have something to do with my playful nature or perhaps a true sense of joy in photography... not sure but i think the fact that his guy rose up from underground has to do with some particular aspect of myself coming to surface

later in a second dream a young playful girl was teaching me her new dance moves

maybe i need to learn to lighten up  Cheesy

Most of my dreams seem to center around lessons, tests being in school etc. Will i ever really graduate from this life? LOL

i believe dreams can be revealing Eric. Recently i had a dream in which i was the person i did not understand. In other words what i could not understand in someone else i became myself.
i think it shows a real desire to understand someone else and their feelings. Regardless if they are right or not; it is good to be able to empathize with others... to get under their skin and feel what it feels like to be them and how you affect them.

In the dream i felt i was being pursued and felt as though i could not get away from somebody. So i 'swung' at them to loosen their presence from me. But then someone or something told me that i could not do that. Well i felt as though the authorities were going to get me for it so i ran and tried to hide in my house. i did not want to face the issue. i had this feeling that i might have handled the situation improperly but i did not feel as though i should have to face the consequences. Dreams can really be convoluted! They can represent the spiritual aspirations in us to understand the people and circumstances we encounter. To do this you have to become the feelings of someone else... to become that person yourself... It is an easier process in the dream state where anything is possible and you are not so limited by physical realities.

You make me feel as though i have not. You being just another dream image speaking. Do i really seem that incomprehensible? Sorry if i am... i am only sleeping! Quite often i have the hope that my dreams will show me the clues to the puzzles in my head so i find relief in closing my eyes.

You and me...we are dream characters. As I write this I imagine you reading it. That you that I imagine is a dream and vice versa.

Quote
There is no difference between dream and the waking state except that the dream is short and the waking long. Both are the result of the mind. Because the waking state is long, we imagine that it is our real state. But, as a matter of fact, our real state is what is sometimes call turiya or the fourth state which is always as it is and knows nothing of the three [waking dream or sleep]. - Sri Ramana Maharshi, Day by Day with Bhagavan, pg. 92

 Cool

The revealing dream i spoke of was helpful to the physical realm but not to waking up in the turiya state. One could only hope to wake in the turiya state! Once we get in touch with the turiya state...It may not even be important--these lessons we learn in the material and dream sleeping realms. Until then... if any assumptions be made... let us assume that we have much yet waking to do seeing the meaning of the words of Sri Ramana Maharshi!

We assume we've woken up

With Pluto so close to your ascendent there are probably many things coming to the surface now Eric. Many aspects of your personality are now being revealed through your encounters and your inner life. There may be some destined encounters also that will help you adjust your self-expression. Your ideas of pleasure taking on a new meaning.

This may have no relevance. Just happened to see it on the internet:

"Seeing pink elephants" is a euphemism for drunken hallucination, caused by alcoholic hallucinosis or delirium tremens. An early literary use of the term is by Jack London in 1913, who describes one kind of alcoholic, in the autobiographical John Barleycorn, as "the man whom we all know, stupid, unimaginative, who is also half cocaine; who walks generously with wide-spread, tentative legs, falls frequently in the gutter, and who sees, in the extremity of his ecstasy, blue mice and pink elephants. He is the type that gives rise to the jokes in the funny papers."[1] A reference to pink elephants occurs in the 1941 Disney animated film Dumbo. Dumbo, having taken a drink of water from a bucket spiked with champagne, begins to hallucinate singing and dancing elephants in a segment known as "Pink Elephants on Parade".

Pink elephants do exist in nature, as it is possible for albino elephants to be pink, as well as white.[2]

In 2008, Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin used the phrase "pink elephants" to refer to Pro-life Republican women such as herself, Carly Fiorina, Sue Lowden and Jane Norton.[3]
