It's one of my favourite movies of all time. The central message that if we take our lives too seriously we miss out on all the intrigue and delight of life has a wonderful concord with Master's teachings.

There is so much music in it. Is that what makes the lightness in it? ....and u... do you play anything yourself or are you a music appreciator?

I think there's a lot to be said for being in the presence of higher souls. Here in Australia we miss out on the contact with the monastics (they visit every 2 years or so) but there are quite a few meditation groups.

Laughing at the cruel bitterness of life can be an advantage if done in the right spirit...one of surrender. Sometimes you just have to trust that She knows best and accept whatever medicine She serves up. The more you protest the more bitter it seems to taste. Acceptance in a spirit of surrender can be like 'a spoon full of sugar to help the medicine go down'. Mary Poppins always knows best!

Nomaste

Nice seeing you around again. Like your attitude! The sugar helps it go down. The sugar we create with our attitude of surrender!

Such a delight,  where is Mary Poppins when you need her ?  Cheesy

A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down! Weboflife we have temporarily lost Katze (who was also known as ‘Into Blue’) she has made her transition. Although it appears to me she knows more about Mary Poppins then she would lead us on to believe. Because I genuinely believe she has made her appearance again to me from the other side. And it was so 💜 heart warming. Yes for her age has indeed become irrelevant. It appears that from the ‘other side’, age is determined by the souls progress and no outer confirmation.

There's no mystery to my whereabouts...at least I didn't intend any! On my personal information I filled in before joining I marked down Melbourne, Australia. At least I thought I did?

Anyhows I like the thought that age is irrelevant. My physical injuries (I carry a few) remind me I'm no spring-chicken but that's the beauty of meditation I guess...it relieves us of these limiting concepts if only for while. Thanks for your delight Into Blue. I'm delighted to be here.

Thanks Jitendra. Sorry to hear about Katze, but she's in Masters embrace. I've had so much karmic mathematics at play in my life for the last 13 years or so that I was unable to come back here. Illness, injury the usual stuff the ego attracts, very serious stuff has happened and is some ways it's amazing I'm still here but I guess the sands of my karma have at least a little more to slip through before I'm out.

I did ask a question about Hong Sau in the spine on another thread...is it indeed an advanced SRF technique?

It is so good to have you back and though we can never really go back to times we enjoyed with others..... We can remember those times and add them to the joys of our life. And also recognize we are now creating the joy that we will later see as the past. It is all happening NOW. i will certainly add you to my prayers. As it is the summer Solstice here in the northern hemisphere, is it also cold this time of year in the land down under?

Thanks for the prayers. It is getting cold, early mornings getting close to zero, will go beyond that soon. Just had 3 tonne of redwood delivered last week for our wood-heater, when I was really sick we relied on our gas ducted heating but it is now so expensive. The wood-heater has a much nicer heat too.

I don’t think I knew that it got that cold 🥶 near the ocean, but I suppose you are close to the South Pole. I wonder about the redwood you have. Redwood tress are scarce in the states and protected out west because they get so big there are actual roads that go through some of them. Im talking about the kind that sometimes live more than a thousand years. But we also have red pines here in the Midwest.

Im quite a tree enthusiast. That is to grow them, to provide more oxygen in the environment. Yet I also understand the need for them to heat small places. I have a small solar panel and solar unit. Solar power has become more and more common here and also wind turbines.

We are so fortunate to have people like weboflife and mccoy here. If it were not for those two this site would fold. Weboflife did not object to being a global moderator. I’m sure there is no status in it for him. But without his contributions and those of mccoy where would we be? We were quite active at one time. But how much does it matter if we have 5 or 50,000 guests here? All that really matters is our connection with the divine. And you two participating when things have slowed down is something I can never forget. There is nothing like a friend in need who is a friend indeed!

May God bless both of you and those who remain guests here despite all the challenges we have faced with unsettling messages in the recent past. Our spirits have risen above such petty circumstances while always attempting to work in the divine plan and accept what ever God provides or does not provide in his mercy and discipline.

Re wood:

When I moved here, in full nature, I absolutely loved trees, planted some and looked forward to see them growing.

After 20 years though, they started to worry me. Falling hazard for some specieses, fire hazard from others, too much shade usually for all.

I had to had some abated. Also, around me, the wood is expanding and is moving dangerously close to my house. Dangerously because a fire in a pinewood is a very scary thing.

Presently, I intend to keep a few trees like an old oak of about 200 years or more and am cutting the underbrush regularly.

Also, here in Europe after natural gas became very expensive because of war, many people started burning wood pellets, which is undoubtedly cheaper.

I used to have a wooden fireplace, but it really required so much wood and labour.

But that it is, unfortunately we have to adapt to situations, not having unlimited funds.

My next step will be to install solar panels, with a battery. Which is expensive at first.

But This is maybe going to be the evolution of energy. Fossil fuels are only a temporary measure. The sun has almost unlimited energy to be exploited.

I also am around trees a lot while camping . It is difficult to set up a tent or park your car where there are no trees in a large forest. It is a chance you take. The winds sometimes become gusts and you can be crushed by a tree or your car can. But you have to decide. Do you want to park in a shopping center? A park and ride? Or do you want to sleep with the trees whispering at night singing their song and shading you during the day. The risks and choices are yours. There is nothing like meditation and spiritual practice in the forest! I wonder if web has the comfort of the life of nature where he lives. With all comfort and life comes responsibility.

I live in an area that was once rural. After colonisation by the English this area was farmland. Before it was known as 'Marnabek; which in Native tongue means beautiful country. Urban sprawl has decimated a lot of the natural lands, but pockets still remain where  I take my beloved dog for a walk. We sometimes see kangaroos, kookaburras, lots of birdlife and lovely flora. Behind the local racecourse there is a big pocket of land untouched and it has some walking tracks through it. On these trails it can feel like we are back in old times where the natives would have thrived. It really is beautiful country.

We live in an older part of the town so we have lots of trees. In the newer areas developers rip up all the trees and build homes on tiny little blocks where the houses seem to jut up one upon the other. No privacy at all, and no trees. It all seems so unnatural, so clinically cold and dehumanising if I can go that far? But they want to dramatically increase the country's population which gives opportunity to people often struggling in other parts of the world so that is where the light shines.

I live in Victoria, Mccoy, not South Australia. Southeast of Melbourne , the states capital city. And like you two, we have solar which we installed a couple of years ago. Quite costly to set up but will pay for itself in about 4 years. Haven't gone for the battery yet, as with electric cars we're waiting for the technology to get better and cheaper. If, of course, we live long enough, but I figure around 2030 is the timing.

Yes, I meant actually 'southern Australia' and not the state, I almost thought you were from Tasmania, with the coldest winters in OZ, probably. But Southeast of Melbourne is after all the southernmost part of continental Australia....
