The writer, the singers, the actors, they all tend to support Mrs. Harris.

What should we derive from that? That if Mr. Trump is defeated Americans will be singing all day, dancing all they, watching films and reading stories all day?

That's the same as Panem et circenses in the time of ancient Romans. Shallow appeasement. This is the message I get from seeing Ms Taylor, Mr, Sprignsteen and others at the conventions of Mrs. Harris.

Whereas, when I see Mr. Musk at the convention of Mr, Trump, my thought goes to 'pure genius', 'pure efficiency', 'assured economical development'.

Steve, you can say I'm old-fashioned, but I would prefer the serious stuff to the panem et circenses proposed by Mrs. harris.

Wiki quote:
Quote
"Bread and circuses" (or bread and games; from Latin: panem et circenses) is a metonymic phrase referring to superficial appeasement. It is attributed to Juvenal (Satires, Satire X), a Roman poet active in the late first and early second century AD, and is used commonly in cultural, particularly political, contexts.

In a political context, the phrase means to generate public approval, not by excellence in public service or public policy, but by diversion, distraction, or by satisfying the most immediate or base requirements of a populace,[1] by offering a palliative: for example food (bread) or entertainment (circuses). Juvenal originally used it to decry the "selfishness" of common people and their neglect of wider concerns.[2][3][4] The phrase implies a population's erosion or ignorance of civic duty as a priority.

Mccoy while usually I admire and appreciate your differing views than my own, on this particular subject I do not find any hope of defending such selfishness as I’ve witnessed in Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Unfortunately you have failed to include all the lawyers, politicians, statesmen and women, social workers psychologists, military personal and economists supporting Mrs. Harris. And have included the most selfish of men Elon Musk for your analysis.

It is called Selection bias….

Selection bias refers to situations where research bias is introduced due to factors related to the study’s participants. Selection bias can be introduced via the methods used to select the population of interest, the sampling methods, or the recruitment of participants. It is also known as the selection effect.

Billionaires are the most selfish people on earth. This goes for most billionaires as obviously there are a few out there that are givers, but most are just selfish in my opinion.

I get that they made their money on their own and with the sweat of all the support of their working staff but the fact there is so much they could be doing for others in need but they are keeping it for themselves just blows my mind. There is absolutely no comparison to for instance Amma who has given over a billion dollars since 1981 and her council that has opened the hearts and minds of millions of people. No one in the entire world needs that much money and there are so many whose lives would be changed for the better with just any money at all.  Elon Musk; the richest man on earth and also one of the most selfish.l, can hardly be selected as giving spiritual advice to the masses or any exemplary behavior worth following as compared to Amma who has become a billionaire that has given it back to others but not hoarding it for herself.

Amma teaches that everyone — rich or poor — has the power to make a difference in the life of another, and that no selfless gesture is insignificant.

Who We Are

Embracing the World® is a global network of local and regional charitable organizations and projects which grew out of the India-based charitable projects of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Currently active in more than 40 countries around the world, Embracing the World exists to help alleviate the burden of the world’s poor through helping to meet each of their five basic needs — food, shelter, education, healthcare and livelihood — wherever and whenever possible.

We believe that having these needs met is the fundamental right of any human being, and that it is the responsibility of each of us to strive hard to ensure that one day, every human being can live in dignity, safety, security and peace. Amma teaches that everyone — rich or poor — has the power to make a difference in the life of another, and that no selfless gesture is insignificant. Rather, it is the selfless actions we perform for one another that hold the keys to true peace — peace in the individual, peace in the community and peace among diverse cultures, nations and faiths. Amma’s centers in many countries contribute to this humanitarian effort by inspiring people to serve selflessly in the building of a better world.

HOW WE BEGAN
Each project began in response to the needs of the world’s poor who came to unburden their hearts to Amma and cry on her shoulder.

More than three decades ago, the administrators of a local orphanage confessed to Amma they were out of funds and that before long, they would have to turn the children out on the street.

In 1989, Amma diverted money that had been saved to build her first prayer hall and used it to assume care of the orphans. With this, Embracing the World was born.

More than 500 children were there and the numbers kept increasing, half from poor tribal communities. With the nourishing food and loving care they received from the dedicated staff, the children gained the confidence and the strength to move forward in life.

Today, more than one in three go on to earn college degrees, all of which are fully sponsored by Embracing the World. Latest update on Paripally Orphanage

Sorry mccoy, compared to Amma Elon Musk is a mere spiritual retard; Whose charity amounts to donations to another of the most selfish men on earth Donald Trump… who not only hoards his wealth but is known for his deceptive lies about his own charity.

"PARAMAHANASAJI often pointed out to those who admired Rajarsi's business accomplishments that his spiritual achievements were far more important. "I remember one evening when Master and I were walking on the lawn in front of the Hermitage," recalled Meera Mata..."Rajarsi was sitting on the ground in lotus posture. Without saying anything, Master took me by the hand and led me quietly away. When we had gone some distance, Master said, "Let us not disturb him. Rajarsi is doing more good by the depths of his meditations than by all the money he has given to the work....Always remember Rajarsi sitting here meditating and serving me in this way."

Rajarsi Janankananda, A Great Western Yogi

And Amma taught meditation as well as promoted it every time I saw her. All types of meditation! She accumulated over a billion dollars since just 1981 but gave it all away to charity. Rajasi was also a very rich man in his time. He gave much of his wealth to the Self Realization Fellowship. What can we say for Elon Musk ? That he is the richest man in the world? Let us be realistic about such matters. He is probably the most selfish man alive.

It is as I’ve mentioned before; Paramahansa Yogananda said of this country I live in; it has misplaced priorities. And i certainly do not want leaders in it that have such unbalanced values. It has taken spiritual giants like Yogananda and Amma from a more spiritually developed country as India to remind us of such matters. Western leaders are blinded by wealth and power as well as material accomplishments instead of spiritual achievements.

Steve, while I most assuredly appreciate the work Amma is doing, Mr. Musk has another role. We also don't know how much he's donating to charity. It's probably undisclosed.

What he's donating in terms of the advancement of humankind is invaluable. And also his battle against the conspiracy of the media to suppress freedom of speech is highly commendable.

I see in Mr. Musk a true bulwark of freedom. The basic principle of freedom should be part of American democracy but this principle is being drowned by the ruling democrat elite.

The alliance of Mr. Musk with Mr. Trump is a formidable event, and maybe it's going to move the needle in favor of Mr. Trump.

However things will develop, God this time has prepared a very interesting plot for his cosmic film.

Yet from Elon Musk to the Murdochs, a small number of billionaire owners have a powerful hold on so much of the information that reaches the public. And in this most critical contest, two of America’s largest newspapers, the LA Times and the Washington Post, have broken with tradition and chosen not to issue endorsements for president. Something those two publications have in common? They are both owned by billionaires who could face retaliation in a Trump presidency.~the Guardian

————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The larger perspective and outlook is not perceived in such people as Elon Musk and Dishonest Don. All they think about is short term advantages for Mother Earth. And Trumpster is so out of it that he will do nothing to help Mother Earth in the years ahead, while Amma is constantly giving suggestions on how to save our planet and turn around the destruction we are now witnessing in extreme weather patterns, melting of glaciers and rising water levels, to name only a few. She and her followers are actually implementing such programs themselves and I am a witness to it. However, on the other hand, in fact Trumpster took us out of the Paris Climate Accords which shows his utter ignorance on such matters. And perpetuated the the lie that climate change is a hoax by the Chinese government.

Planet-heating pollutants in atmosphere hit record levels in 2023
Carbon dioxide concentration has increased by more than 10% in just two decades, reports World Meteorological Organization

The concentration of planet-heating pollutants clogging the atmosphere hit record levels in 2023, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has said.

It found carbon dioxide is accumulating faster than at any time in human history, with concentrations having risen by more than 10% in just two decades.

“Another year, another record,” said Celeste Saulo, secretary-general of the WMO. “This should set alarm bells ringing among decision makers.”

The increase was driven by humanity’s “stubbornly high” burning of fossil fuels, the WMO found, and made worse by big wildfires and a possible drop in the ability of trees to absorb carbon. The concentration of CO2 reached 420 parts per million (ppm) in 2023, the scientists observed. The level of pollution is 51% greater than before the Industrial Revolution, when people began to burn large amounts of coal, oil and fossil gas.

Concentrations of strong but short-lived pollutants also surged. Methane concentrations hit 1,934 parts per billion (ppb), a rise of 165% from preindustrial levels, and nitrous oxide hit 336.9 parts per billion (ppb), a rise of 25%, it said.

Saulo said: “We are clearly off track to meet the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to well below 2C and aiming for 1.5C above preindustrial levels. These are more than just statistics. Every part per million and every fraction of a degree temperature increase has a real impact on our lives and our planet.”
Burning fossil fuels – such as the petrol to power a car or the coal to feed a thermal power plant – releases gases that trap sunlight and heat the planet.

The WMO warned that this heating can lead to climate feedbacks that are “critical concerns” to society, such as stronger wildfires that pump out more carbon and hotter oceans that suck up less CO2.
There has been a slight slowdown in the growth of global emissions over the last decade but continued strong growth in atmospheric concentrations, said Glen Peters, a climate scientist at the Cicero in Norway, who was not involved in the study. “[That] should give us cause for thought on how strong carbon sinks will remain in a changing climate.”

The Earth last experienced a comparable concentration of CO2 a few million years ago, when the planet was 2-3C hotter and the sea level 10-20 metres higher.

Peters said the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are humanity’s “most accurate measure” of progress. “The data shows, again, we are not making much progress on reducing emissions.”
The WMO announcement comes ahead of the Cop29 climate summit in Azerbaijan next month. It follows a report from the UN Environment Programme on Thursday that found the world is on track to heat 3C by the end of the century. World leaders had promised to stop it from heating 1.5C.

Joeri Rogelj, a climate scientist at Imperial College London and co-author of the report, said: “The record levels of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere are the logical outcome of the record amounts of greenhouse gases that our economies continue to dump into our ambient air.”

Scientists have estimated investments of $1tn to $2tn (£800bn to £1.6tn) are needed each year to cut emissions to net zero by the middle of the century.

“Current trends will see global warming cross all warming limits that global leaders agreed to in the 2015 Paris climate agreement,” said Rogelj. “[The report] also shows that this doesn’t need to be the end of the story.”

Objectively, it seems that the Guardian has it in reverse.

It is well known that the public platform Twitter used to silence all those who expressed thoughts contrary to the democrat narrative, in terms of vaccination, transgenderism, and everything. They silenced your friend Mr. Trump for expressing ideas. Very weird in America, where freedom used to rule supreme.

At this point Mr. Musk, even if losing money, bought the platform and liberated the expression of freedom from it.

So it is exactly the opposite of what the Guardian is attempting to affirm.

Many of the media, affiliated with the democrat elite, have been proposing a heavily distorted narrative of events.

Fortunately, many people have noticed that. Channels like CNN are not so much followed any longer, whereas independent media and podcasters are the new popular channels.

Podcasters like Joe Rogan, who previously supported Bernie Sanders, now are supporting Mr. Trump. Do we wonder why?

Because they realized that there is an ongoing strategy to suppress freedom of thought, the democrat elite has been behaving, more or less subtly, like a ruling tyranny.

Re. the climate issue.

It is a complex thing. Mr, Trump has been pretty moderate about it on the Rogan podcast. He says an undeniable truth: here people propose strict control of emissions, but in China, which is the first global polluter, there is no freedom of proposal. The Chinese government is going to open more coal mines. So are doing other developing countries.

I like the idea of aeolic fields and do not agree that they have a terrible impact on the landscape, but there is some truth on the cost of the wind towers and the use of old materials. Clean energy seems not to be always very clean.

Also, Mr. Trump's views on nuclear power are sensible. That's a very dangerous power source, if not for the safety of ordinary operations, for the safety against outside attacks.

To me, it appears that the worst thing, far worse than coal plants, would be to multiply nuclear power plants. Besides, nobody is speaking about the nuclear exhaust material, which will remain radioactive forever.

And, re. fossil fuels. Untile they are there to be exploited, it would be a strategical suicide not to exploit them. This because the villains in the world are exploiting them without hesitation, securing a strategical advantage over the so-called free world.

Are you really attempting to tell me after all these years of climate change denial Trump has taken a moderate view?  That is so laughable that it is sad. Back when i started talking about the problem and was made fun of for mentioning it, as though it was fantasy of mine, Trump was calling it a hoax and fake news. There is literally no hope for such a fool. He reopened coal mines, closed the door on the Paris climate accords and stopped every attempt that Obama before him had started. How is it that such total idiots can even be considered for saving our planet??

What you call suppressing the truth is really fact finding and correcting lies that Dishonest Don has perpetrated all his life. No one has suppressed his conspiracies. He simply cannot take the fact he lost against Biden and created a whole different narrative to fit his agenda at committing crimes to stay in power. The far right is actually so rigid in their ideology and rhetoric that they have a made up narrative. It is quite similar to Kim Jung Un who constantly expresses the view that the west is on the verge of attacking his country, Vladimir Putin who justifies invading a democracy on the grounds that NATO will be invading Russia soon. XI taking over islands in the South China Sea on the grounds that International Waters are the ownership of the Chinese and taking over Hong Kong on the grounds that it was always the property of Chinese Communists.

So why not beat those who disagree with them in the process by attacking free nations and areas? This has always been the attitude of Fuhrer Trump; to attack first before the other side can express anything. He has expressed such views in the book he couldn’t write as Obama did.

Trump ghostwriter regrets "The Art of the Deal"
Tony Schwartz, co-author of Donald Trump's autobiography "The Art of the Deal," joins Major Garrett for "The Takeout." Schwartz explains why he wishes the book wasn't even in print. Writing it more than 30 years ago, he says, is the greatest regret of his life.

He constantly warned his staff that ‘we should send troops out on the streets’ to resolve demonstrations. And now he openly says he will seek retribution for his crimes he committed.

Donald Trump on giving from ‘the art of the deal’

“I’ve never been terribly interested in why people give, because their motivation is rarely what it seems to be, and it’s almost never true altruism.”

Amma on giving;

Gift of Giving

The more you give, the more you will have, like an endless spring that flows into the well as you draw water.

“The final key to the way I promote is bravado. I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That’s why a little hyperbole never hurts. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole. It’s an innocent form of exaggeration, and a very effective form of promotion.”

On Elon Musks approach verses Amma’s….

While striving to take humans to the stars, there must also be attempts to bring back humanity to earth. ~Amma

If you are skeptic, I suggest you listen to the interview with Joe Rogan, although it's pretty lengthy.

Edit: I was trying to find the original youtube podcast, but Google seems to be censoring this search. IT pulls only brief clips. This google censorship has not gone unnoticed.

Steve, this is an example of suppressing the freedom to speak. It comes from the Democrat Elite, not from the purported second coming of hitler...

After hoarding over 274 billion dollars as a net worth you would hope he helped someone along the way! On a side note I may listen to Rogan as you suggested although at this point I did listen to various speakers on the right that Eric proposed and for the most part it only strengthened my view that Donald Trump and Elon Musk are among the most selfish men in the world today and gave me more information to validate that assessment.

Mccoy If you want to talk about Rogen why not create a topic on him? This thread is entitled; Elon Musk and Amma. I had no problems finding many videos on Rogen and Trump. I doubt that your claim that it is part of the Democratic Elites attempt to suppress information can be validated at all, and may in fact be a slanderous attempt to diminish the credibility of the danger of having Trumpster the King of the free world. Most likely it is just a matter of what videos are listened to the most and are shown in that order. Do you think that I blame the Republican Fascists for having other videos than ‘my’ music at the top of the list when people look for me?

This is an example of how conspiracy theorists on the right get way out of balance and eventually cause a wave of paranoia that is a happening today. It illustrates my assertion that people will do anything to keep their personal head lines going and spin all kinds of fantastic stories to maintain their narrative of reality. It also demonstrates that I am well equipped to handle my own personal view of reality without listening to the personal prejudices that occur in for instance Rogans outlandish claims. The consequences of such behavior can be seen in the events leading up to the insurrection and violence that occurred because of the King of conspiracies and what he saw as being victimized; Dishonest Danald Trumpster. When in reality he just could not face losing the election. Some of us need to find humility by losing, but the ego is tenacious in holding on to certain material and earthly values. And in Fuhrer Trump we have an inflated ego, way out of control defying the sobriety of psychological well being. And, devoid of any spiritual understanding.

Steve, of course, you found several clips about the interview. What you could not find, perhaps, was the original video, nearly 3 hours long. I couldn't at least in the first page of the search.
It is not a conspiracy, it is an evident manipulation of the algorithm.
You could not have a video clicked by over 30 million people at the first place, on top, if the algorithm were not intentionally rigged.

Your videos are at the bottom, maybe because they are not clicked by 30 million people. That's, to my knowledge, how the algorithm usually goes. If not rigged.

By the way, I discovered that calling someone Hitler, or Fuhrer, which is the same thing at all practical effects, is a fallacy, known as Reductio ad Hitlerum

This is the relevant wiki voice.

Quote
Reductio ad Hitlerum (Latin for "reduction to Hitler"), also known as playing the Nazi card,[1][2] is an attempt to invalidate someone else's argument on the basis that the same idea was promoted or practised by Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party.[3] Arguments can be termed reductio ad Hitlerum if they are fallacious (e.g., arguing that because Hitler abstained from eating meat or was against smoking, anyone else who does so is a Nazi). Contrarily, straightforward arguments critiquing specifically fascist components of Nazism like Führerprinzip are not part of the association fallacy.

Invented by Leo Strauss in 1953, reductio ad Hitlerum takes its name from the term used in logic called reductio ad absurdum ("reduction to the absurd").[4] According to Strauss, reductio ad Hitlerum is a type of ad hominem, ad misericordiam, or a fallacy of irrelevance. The suggested rationale is one of guilt by association. It is a tactic often used to derail arguments because such comparisons tend to distract and anger the opponent.[5]

Is possessing 274 billion US$  of assets an act of selfishness? Was St. James Lynn a selfish guy because he possessed vast assets? I like the term 'hoarding', which you know well is not relevant, since really rich people never hoard, rather they invest and are able to multiply their riches. By not hoarding.

I do not suggest you listen to the interview, it's too long. Unless you have things to do while listening.
But it has been a real smash, That's why the google guys removed it, it was risking to move the needle too much.

They call Trump a Hitler, but they are the ones really behaving like Hitler, suppressing the freedom of speech. Or, at least, trying their best at the suppression.

LET'S STOP THAT NEEDLE! LET'S STOP THAT NEEDLE! PEOPLE MUST NOT LISTEN!

Hmmm 🤔 I wouldn’t be to certain with anything on the internet!
