Amma gave me this personalized mantra 🕉️ with Yogananda’s name in it. I chanted it so many times today that I got this feeling I had left this body and couldn’t even imagine how I could have believed that this garb of flesh I am in was real. Also I had this feeling of how weird we must appear to an alien race.

There really is something to chanting a mantra all day and into the nite. Who knows what surprises and insights you may arrive at.

I practiced the presence so much yesterday that I felt a surreal feeling about being in the bondage of a body. Every once in a while now, I get this precognizant sense that I’m not really in possession of the body I’m in.

Perhaps you have felt life has had a surreal quality about it. Although the more I feel that way, the more I seem in tune. Because nothing in this life is as real as most people make it out to be, and the more we recognize miracles around us, the more we are witnessing the dream fabric of this life manifesting for what it is.

I always scrutinize my thoughts and mind, being detached from them. I recognize my thoughts as the ego, the soul that needs a material interface, the brain, to drive the mind and body. I am familiar with my ego but not so much with the soul, of which I have but fleeting glimpses.

Life often looks surreal, like the screen on a computer game. Life after all is a cosmic simulation. Science is starting to be aware of this.

Looking at my life this incarnation I would say my deep experiences with the soul are also fleeting. But I do feel the presence of spirit almost daily. I think that anyone would if they just did a little meditation and constantly practiced the presence.

Experience with the ego is also a daily function. It requires constant effort at redirecting negative thought patterns for me. And hoping to see myself like others do to gain perspective.
