In my personal case, I almost exclusively eat healthy food, no junk food, but I definitely notice more energy when I can eat sparingly, with a stomach not very full.

I appreciate Bro. baktananda's suggestion to eat more meals in small amounts, in such a way as to be always ready and active. That's not always possible of course and depends on individuals, but in my case it tends to work. Digestion sucks up energy.

Also, eating fruit requires no gastric digestion and provides energy, I used to eat oranges for example while doing resistance exercise. Drinks with honey also provide energy without gastric digestion. The detrimental factor especially when no longer younger may be higher fasting blood glucose, I had to discontinue such practices.
