Job

Really like this quote from the Bible. It makes me think about what we seek and desire as opposed to what we may need…

God took away Job’s children, wealth, health, and reputation — all that most men place their hope in during life. And the result? Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return.

I agree, Job's story is a good lesson for us.  As I understand it, from a song I learned in Sunday school, "God gives to me, and takes away. Blessed be the name of God this day."
I have thought about how easy it is to praise God when all my needs are being met.  I would like to be someone who is able to praise God in earnest even when I am not in such fine fettle, as when I am in the first condition it is easy.
I think Jesus said something along these lines, but I can't remember that story at the moment.
