The key to all meditation practice is the breath. In Kriya we have a technique to slow the breath down naturally. When the breath is calmed the mind is calmed down from its constant reminders of schedules and accomplishments it reviews and attempts to undertake.

Really the most important life accomplishment is finding our connection with bliss consciousness, better known as ; God. This is accomplished through the slowing down of the mind’s activity which also slows down the breath.

The breath is elongated with its connection to the exercise of bringing energy up and down the spine. Often when we terminate our practice of Kriya yoga we will find that our breath has slowed down and our restless thoughts have diminished. This will make it easier to direct our consciousness to prayer and silent reflection.

Kriya yoga was a practice during the higher ages which was lost in the event of the dark ages or Kali Yuga. It was reignited when Lahiri Mahasaya brought it back to the world because Babaji taught it to him. The idea of energy was not very possible to understand during the dark ages. In the late 1600’s and early 1700’s the idea of energy was reintroduced to humanity through the industrial revolution. At this time it was more understandable to also recognize the energy that lies within consciousness.

Restless activity is the perpetual outcome of making money, outward goals, schedules, accomplishments and satisfying desires in this material world. The mind needs a break from such endless pursuits to be able to find peace and ultimately a connection behind the worlds activities that is spirit. Kriya is the technique that will give us reprieve from the worlds activities.

In reality people who are given Kriya yoga are not just those who have come across another meditation technique, but have worked many incarnations to secure a connection with  a divine group of people who are associated with Babaji. This technique is no ordinary meditation technique but rather a method of receiving divine communion.

At first when we loose a job or become sick we may have to feel the pangs that go with loss and illness. However later we may recognize that certain life destiny’s are also associated with a revival and deeper understanding of our spiritual experiences and connections.

After having the blessings of some of the Kriya Masters in my life I am keenly aware that this technique helps and is evolutionary in nature in its ability to evolve the souls capacity to express higher vibrations and have unusual experiences of healing, protection and encounters in life.

Since Kriya yoga slows the breath I have gotten more in tune with breathing and breath over the years. For instance what are the breathing patterns in different states of consciousness and how is my breath flowing when I’m focused or feel passionate, emotional, spiritual, understanding, loving or upset?

Amma gave me a personal mantra to watch and use with my thoughts and breath. It is interesting that she gave me one that includes  Yogananda’s name. I think this very important to stay in touch with the guidance of a divine being so they can guide us through the dark corridors of our lives.

I have the energization exercises to also connect with my breath. Double breathing is a bit different; a short inhalation followed by a long one and a short exhalation followed by a long one. A breathing in and tensing, as the body part energizes and a relaxation as you breathe out. The breath is coordinated with body movements.

Kriya yoga decarbonizes the blood. There is therefore less need to breathe as much and the breath slows down incredibly. Because of this it is easier for the brain, with its ceaseless thoughts, to slow down as well. A state of slow breath and focus are simultaneously happening and it is easier to pray and focus on divine perceptions.

This is because anyone who has focused on the breath in different states of consciousness will find that the breath slows down when relaxed and is very slow when the mind is focused on a particular idea or task. If that task requires concentrated effort. Therefore Kriya is a technique that slows the breath and supports concentration while the energies associated with its movement up and down the spine are repudiated to burn out the seeds of karma and speed up the spiritual evolution of those practicing it.

The question remains; how does Kriya burn 🔥 out karma and quicken the evolution of the souls progress towards the infinite? The answer is the seeds of karma are stored in the astral body of each of us and are awaiting their manifestation by the proper circumstances that  brings them into physical reality. By practicing this technique of Kriya Yoga, the seeds of karma are roasted out and the devotee needs not experience all the consequences of his or her previous actions in the Colossal amount of lifetimes - the human soul has dressed itself in human garments, in terrestrial lifetimes here on earth and or other similar planets 🪐 in this or other physical universes.

Breath and oxygen are used to clean the venous blood of carbon. When Kriya slows down the breath there is less carbon built up and thus less need for oxygen so the breath continues to be calmer and the body more still.
