As a bonus, Mars will be just to the left of the moon tonight

Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon.

This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. Each month brings another full moon name.

I can hear the wolves howling already  Grin

I did see this tonight. I was driving in it.. And was amazed but it's beauty. I'm glad I got to see this when I missed the Blue moon on New Years.

Yes, it certainly was bright. And off in the distance, I heard the echoes of wolves howling. Wonder what message they were bringing ?

Any ideas on the message, Amor or  Midnite Astrologer ?

What was even more neat was how it seemed so close that you felt like you could reach up and touch it. I did notice within an hour or two of seeing the moon like this it was back to its normal size, and higher up in the sky. So it was a nice treat to of been able to see the moon that way.
