Meditating during the fall

Meditation during the fall in the woods is so wonderful because it is cooler and most of the varmints have left because of the cold nights. Here in winter, water wonderland we have gorgeous tree changes so the scenery is also inspiring. Most the insects are now gone for the year. You arrive and hear the wind blowing through the trees and the cool brisk air at sundown makes the walk out to your favorite places overlooking the rivers sometimes far below. There you sit in solitude saoking up the spiritual peace and the sound of the river rushing against the terrain below.

If you can just find at least one day a week to be alone and somewhere free of the sound of people, cars and the hustle and bustle of the city. You will find that solitude so helpful for meditation practice.
