There is a positive element of meeting people at a distance. It is something that Eric brought up to me when we were talking about our friendship which has always been at a distance. It is possible that it may continue to be that way. Although it brings out the ideals in us when we project them on other people at a distance, a relationship can take on a different direction and perspective when two people are physically close and must deal with the reality of being together in person.

I've no problem with distance. In fact I rather prefer it. Yes true try living with that person.
