I have found that it is often easier to meditate when you wake up in the middle of the nite. Because it is really quiet
and there is less restless activity both internally and externally. One challenging factor though can be the temptation to go rite back asleep.

...Or falling asleep anyway while meditating cross-legged. Happened often to me. The body remains in the posture, the mind starts dreaming. Or hallucinating.
