Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

« on: Nov 09, 2022 04:14 pm »

The challenge I see in people who do not believe in such things as old souls is that the implication is we learn nothing from life to life. It is clear to me that some people understand and are obviously more spiritually developed at birth. At a young age Amma showed signs of being a saint… this can also be said of Jesus who actually preached to his religious peers at an early age.

Similarly there are musicians who clearly had an innate ability to play and write music at an early age. This is because we work on our talents and our spiritual, psychic, scientific and mechanical skills from life to life. For instance Eric; why is it that you are able to remember your dreams with remarkable detail? You could call people talented, old souls or genius but the fact is we are not all equal in our abilities, talents and understanding.

Paramahansa Yogananda has clearly stated that what we think and do at the end of our present life is brought along with us to the next. There is a reason we were born into a certain country at a certain time… all these efforts and strengths we have gained and stay with us, while there are ‘younger souls’ who still seek after only the glitter in life and may never question why they are here or what the purpose of this life is.

It is not so much to make us feel good about ourselves, but rather to understand the behavior of those who have yet not even understand what meditation is about. It is about recognizing our friendship with those who actually feel an a-kinship to spiritual endeavors verses those who actually even work against such people and their aspirations. If it were not for ‘older souls’ I would never attempted to create this site. For what would we be the purpose? In fact it’s purpose is to bring older souls together in their search and continual spiritual understanding and spiritual/psychic development. Arguing a point so simple to assimilate is to show a total lack of of spiritual understanding, or a need to be right and a grasping at straws and constant desire to put others at the test. I see no reason to continue conversations with people who enjoy contentious environments. There are so many possibilities we have together. Why work against them?

I think it's important to make the distinction because people are so forgetful of their true nature- so ready to identify with the physical body and its little pings and tingles- they forget their larger body, the all encompassing One...
