Steve, I am aware of what happened that is why I bumped this thread questioning if what I experienced was a type of premonition? I could not explain why I felt so sad about Hawaii when I made that post.
Just want to notate that I do not claim what I experienced was a premonition- but I asked aloud as a potential reality. I also believe we can not accurately asses another's suffering. I believe we can sympathize, we can feel something- but I think the extent of suffering is unique. And I think if we were to feel *everything* then we would surely be dead. So I wonder why only certain clairvoyant experiences even happen? Maybe this wasn't a precognitive experience. If it were, then I can only speculate maybe some premonitions are experienced because of a link we share with the person or place.
I have heard there are different energy centers all over the world and Hawaii is one of them. Something like Sedona, AZ. I have also had personal experiences where my OBE's seem to gravitate to someone who I thought was Filipino but could easily be Hawaiian. Maybe a past life connection? At one point I speculated this person to be an (unaware) spiritual anchor for these kind of unexplainable occurrences.
Eric Hawaii is in a rather precarious place with regards to the United States. It is thousands of miles off at sea, which puts it in a position to be vulnerable to other threats from other nations. I actually would not negate the possibility of further challenges to this state that are yet to be witnessed.
Some of my views recently have been tempered by the recognition of the overwhelming challenge to monitor the sufferings around the world with the suffering happening right here in the United States. I feel fortunate that I do not have to deal with making serious decisions regarding our future and the future of the world that our leaders must confront. We are more like onlookers in that sense, though our little lives can significantly impact the world around us through our prayer and meditation. Although to a large extent, we as witnesses of the dharma unfold, also have our individual destined roles to partake in, that have brought us to this point in our evolution, to meet the challenges of our karma and destiny as spiritual beings.
