Hello, all you good people.

I am a musician who has recently come to be a follower of the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, through the usual route (that of "Autobiography of a Yogi"). I will say now that because I abhor the controversy between SRF and Ananda, I will not be drawn into any discussion where things in poor taste are said about members of either party. They are both disseminating Master's teachings, in slightly different ways. Surely the important thing, beyond which society you belong to, is that you are following Master's teaching? I believe this to be so, anyway. I would like to learn how to incorporate my spirituality into my music, because I have not yet written anything I consider to be truly spiritual.

Thank you for being here,

L. T. L.

Hello and welcome LTL  Smiley

There is a section on some of Yogananda's writings, and many other topics of interest. I hope you enjoy your visits. Just curious on the music, what do you consider to be " truly spiritual " ? Doesn't this vary with the songwriter or the listener ? What is considered "truly spiritual " by one might not necessarily be so in the mind of another. Guess I am wondering if there is a difference between " spiritual " music and " truly spiritual " music ?

peace & love,
Into Blue

I think "spiritual music" is that which has come directly from the Divine. I am trying to deepen my meditative efforts so that this may happen, but it has not happened yet. Thanks for prompting me to consider that.
