Whispers from Spirit means that God is guiding us in all manners acknowledging our inner and outer world, manifesting in ways that impress and bewilder. Behind many faces, animals, objects and moments in time. The latest from Inayat Khan seems to be impressing the same message as Yogananda from his expanded commentary God Talks with Arjuna,

 Commentary by Hazrat Inayat Khan
Quote

When we look at this subject from a mystic's point of view, we see that love has two aspects. Love in itself, and the shadow of love fallen on the earth. The former is heavenly the latter is earthly. The former develops self-abnegation in a person; the latter makes him more selfish than he was before. Virtues such as tolerance, mercy, forgiveness and compassion rise of themselves in the heart which is awakened to love.

The infirmities such as jealousy, hatred and all manner of prejudice begin to spring up when the shadow of love has fallen on the heart of the mortal. The former love raises man to immortality, the latter turns the immortal soul into a mortal being. A poet has said that the first step in love teaches selflessness, if it is not experienced then one has taken a step in the wrong direction, although one calls it love. For man has learned from the moment he was born on earth the words 'I am'. It is love alone that teaches him to say, 'Thou art, not I'. For no soul can love and yet affirm its own existence.

And so with the previous post, it would seem that we often forget the Heavenly Love when the Shadow of Love falls onto our hearts. It is important to humble ourselves whenever a spark of Love tinges our being, pray and meditate that we might be guided to right action. It can be achieved by asking, "How shall God use me today?"

Kindest regards.

P.S.,
Our family recently experienced the passing of a friend. I am of the belief that everything happens at the right time. As if the comforting Lord knew what would come, that day- All Saints Day, I had been greeted by friends with such Love and Authenticity. I was really taken back. What's more, a woman came in to the store to give me bread used when celebrating her cultures day of the dead. She specifically told me to leave this bread up by an altar and invite those who have passed from this worldly life into the home and enjoy the feast. It was later that evening we learned of our family friends passing and to my surprise neither Mom or Dad moved the bread I had laid out not knowing I had already invited him to our Home. His wife ended up spending the night at our house too.

I have recently gone through a miniseries of tribulations with having to stand my ground from personal attacks at work, enduring an unrequited love interest and witnessing my family experience the passing of our friend, but all the while it was one guided by Love with constant whispers from God through those who have opened their hearts to me, through the kindness of strangers and new acquaintances... I am also feeling blessed for the Spiritual Anchors brought to my conscious fore which certainly help me to rationalize, observe and mature. Much gratitude for the Lord and for the Love in all Hearts!

With Love...
