Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

« on: Apr 13, 2020 05:18 am »

Eric I know you have had more success with the mantra recently and so it has influenced my consciousness to return to the practice... I spend most my efforts at Kriya, practicing the presence and various Energization/Yoga postures.

However I definitely have seen the results of mantra practice in my life. One life experience of its benefits can keep you interested in its practice a whole lifetime. Simply because of this; you recognize that if you can have that experience of timelessness once in your life it very possibly could happen again. If I have some lite meditation music or new age type music going it keeps my mind more locked into a mantra. I was able to more or less focus on a mantra for about an hour tonite. Sometimes we are blessed with some come-ons in our practice and I remember to this day how I was at about the age of 24.

I was at a SRF convocation and meditating in a large room that was dedicated to just complete silence and meditation. I sat for quite awhile practicing a mantra. I believe it was part of the effort of coming to the event, paying for it, being in the presence of highly evolved souls, past life karma and the combined effort in the room that suddenly brought me into the breathless state. I suppose that one event stimulates my efforts again. Because at that moment of breathlessness I experienced a state of bliss I had never encountered in my life until that moment and recognized the freedom of not having to depend on your breath for survival.

I should add though that for the most part even when I successfully focus on mantra, I am usually dealing with the labyrinth of my own mind. A constant reminder to let go of an endless train of thoughts and ideas that enter the horizon of the minds focus.
