You are never alone. Someone is always with you in thought or in prayer.  One can almost feel the Angels or Master or Amma, by their side, when deep in meditation. I have felt this,  I believe it is so.

i take comfort in sitting alone with the guru and reading the SRF lessons. i suppose in a way i would have to say it is like being in his presence for me. Feeling his vibration. There is no aloneness when this takes place. i really believe it was all written from spirit so in that sense i feel connected and not alone but that i am with a true friend who is trying to help me.

I have just received the lessons, and it is synchronistic to read your above comment Steve. I thought it was just my imagination, now I know it wasn't. As I was reading the lessons, and the words of Yogananda, it was almost like I felt his presence there with me. Like the teacher and the student, a comforting feeling that if I had any questions, he would be happy to answer them. Silly I know, as I can't really hear him speaking to me, it just seems like I do. I could feel his presence," his vibration" as you said. It was a beautiful feeling.
