Good point, Mccoy. The over-population problem seems just as likely to be solved by colonizing space rather than by cutting back on folks around here. That seems to be the way of evolution. If there was an over-population problem in the jungle, people explored new frontiers. Now we have colonized the earth. Maybe next we will colonize the cosmos. It will be the rich moving first though, surely. Not the other way around. Such state of the art technology as it would take to inhabit another planet would only be available to the ones who could afford it (assuming the current economic system is still in place when that time comes).
As it is now we will not even get to Mars till 2030...let alone colonize it. Though McCoy probably was talking about the exploplanets in jest we will not b there for any foreseeable future and even if we were there is no guarantee that those planets r not already overcrowded.
