I’m thinking we should be receptive to any little act of kindness others reach out to give us. Most people are not able to keep a steady stream of kindness towards us. They may have sudden breakthroughs themselves and then fall back into old patterns and habits of living. But it is good for us to reach out to them when such occasions manifest. They may remember our receptivity to them.

We can also recognize in ourselves sudden moments of awakening or spiritual and empathic moments of experience that took us out of the ordinary and helped us recognize the extraordinary. In the same way, we may be reaching out to others so we can experience a steady flow of the extraordinary in more of our days of routine existence. I just have certain epiphanies from time to time.

It is my recognition about people we meet also.  We can only continue talking and attempting to be friends until we realize the rest is up to them. We cannot force issues. We can only improve ourselves and our efforts. So in that sense there is a similarity with people and meditating.
