Absolutes

i believe the single most cause of destruction of relationships and wars and disagreements among nations and groups of people is having absolute values. When people will not budge because of their values they remain locked in a position and it is like saving-face to get things moving and to bring understanding and growth again. Over the years i have made more and more of an effort to leave things open ended and have tried more and more not to have ultimate closure which has no chance of change which can happen through the passing of time and with wisdoms growth.

When i have witnessed stunted growth in myself... when i see people who become rigged in their views... when i see political candidates who place ultimatums on other nations... it has been my experience that it usually results in stunted growth and stagnation. It is usually best to find some conciliatory remark or proposal that can bring people together.

As i have said i do not agree with absolutes so if something seems to work for you i would not impose absolutes on you from my point of view conversely.... if i held an absolute view i may not be ale to integrate your views into my own. i can not get in your head to see what this word means to you but absolutes have done nothing but caused disruptive situations in those around me and in my own life. Obviously i am not speaking for you...just myself. It would b interesting to see if you feel the same a few years from now and to hear how absolute opinions have helped your life.

Yea well there are many things like that in life. Its all good. Silence often speaks better until we are inspired to say something meaningful again. There'll be a time for that too.
