My experience with ghosts.

i had a girl friend for years that had a ghost in her house since being a young age. The ghost was still with her years later when we had a relationship. It was rather an interesting love triangle. As far as i know she never let him go. He was English to the core with a strong English vernacular. An English musician with quite a sense of humor. He teased me by calling me the instigator. Well it is partially true because i was trying to help him move on. You could say that i learned a lot from his experiences on earth and his transition and what happens after this life.

i went to Brother Bhaktananda at the time to get advice. In his matter-of-fact way..He told me that it was indeed real.  i must admit i learned a lot from her, the ghost and the experience. i have fond memories of that part of my life.    Although they r no longer a part of my life...i still feel love for both of them.

Please don't think i'm nutty. Some day something like this may happen to you or perhaps has happened. i wondered about the whole thing myself. It was certainly and eye opener for me!  Brother Bhaktananda reassured me that it was really happening. After all that i understood what Hamlet meant when he said;

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
- Hamlet (1.5.167-8), Hamlet to Horatio

Hamlet speaks these lines to his friend Horatio. The sentries who keep night watch over the castle at Elsinore have seen an apparition of the ghost of the late king of Denmark, Hamlet's father. Although Horatio pleads with the ghost to speak to them, it refuses and disappears at morning light. Horatio tells Hamlet about it the next night, believing that the ghost will only speak with his son. Hamlet goes off with the ghost, where he learns that his father was murdered by his own brother, Claudius, who has now taken the crown for himself. When Hamlet returns to Horatio, who expresses his bewilderment over the apparition, Hamlet points out that ghosts speaking, and brothers murdering, and wives remarrying may exist outside the moral framework of the average man….but that these things occur in the real world.

You do not seem nutty to me for having that experience.   . Did you visibly see and converse with the Englishman?  I am curious.

There are spirits all around.  The one that comes to mind most often for me is one that lived in a house we owned in Colorado, because it was always doing things to let me know it was present - and became a sort of companion.  It did not come on the scene until I was pregnant with my son.  We had lived in the home for years with no signs of anything like that, then suddenly it was there.  I often wondered if this energy was somehow connected to my son.  It was very playful.  We would have 'conversations' through electronic devices like toys, the television - lights, etc.  For instance, my children had a 'talking table' toy - it sang songs, recited the alphabet, flashed lights in various patterns, etc.  When I was in a room alone, that toy would often turn on by itself.  When I would speak to it, it would reply with music - sometimes with humor.  Once, late at night, I was at the computer in the dark and the talking table suddenly lit up.   After a few minutes of interaction I said, "Okay, you are starting to spook me.  I think you should go now." At that moment, it played the 'goodbye' song and turned itself off.  Ha ha.   When we moved, I actually felt a tad sad leaving it behind.  I wondered if the new owners of the house would notice it or not.  I never felt it was a negative energy, though my mother was not as comfortable with it as I was.  Once while she was visiting and staying in the guestroom - which was on the opposite side of our quirky house, and a few levels below everyone else - all the lamps in the room suddenly turned themselves on after she had turned them off to go to sleep.  I tried to play it off that the wiring in that part of the house was probably old and faulty, but she knew better. After that, she always slept with the lights ON because she didn't want to be surprised again.  It used to do things like pry the batteries out of my little booklight and place them on the floor where I would step on them when I woke up. Once it moved an entire laundry basket full of folded clothes from the hearth in my bedroom to the middle of the hallway where I was sure to run into it in the dark coming back from the kitchen with a warm bottle for the baby.  It did countless things like that.  I never saw it, but a few weeks before we were to move I went through the house taking photos.  A series of those photos is in the kids' room - I was taking pictures of their new bunkbed.  In one frame, there is a bright tiny orb hovering between the two beds.  It is white, but looks solid - not like a dust particle - and it has its own light.  In the next, the orb is a bit bigger and moving upwards.  In the final frame, it is HUGE and very bright like a full moon hovering over the top of the beds - as if to say, "Look at me!"   I think it was its way of letting me know it knew we were leaving soon, and it wanted to say goodbye.   . I never discovered who it was or why it was there.  Maybe someday someone can tell me.

Is it possible you were being diverted in a very interesting, yet negative, way?

Did he talk to you? About what year was this?

This was in the late 80's and early 90's. i do not understand your question. Diverted? Diverted from what? Does God talk with us? He communicated with me. Letters. Writing in the margins of books. Leaving things around the house. Interesting coincidences. Told me about things no one else could know etc. Negative way? What do you mean? For what purpose?

No i did not see him. She did. Did i converse with him? Yes many times. By letter. In the margin of books and unusual events happening around the house. He or she had never been to Michigan yet he was able to describe the inside of my house as well as the inside intricate curtain designs.... that i did not know existed till then. She lived in California and had never been to Michigan until a later date. He described much of his life in the 60's before his passing in 1969. He described how he died and what happened after death.

Diversion from the one path, tossing around negatives to try and influence you to veer away from God. As in a bad or tramp spirit, or demon, or whatever they call themselves.

No not really. He believed in God and seemed considerate of my spiritual practices having some interest as well. Yes wrote on paper to read (among other occurrences). This was some 25 years ago. i have done a lot of moving across the country and putting those saved letters in different storage areas etc. over the years. i used to show people who had an interest. They just seemed baffled. i had one persons do a hand writing analyses of the penmanship of the woman i spent time with and the ghost friend. The penmanship and personality had no connection. Looking back on it.... It confirmed my belief of life after death and many dimensions that many of us as humans can just barely tap into. That is why we have this wonderful thing called meditation.... so that we can understand so much more that is inside and out there as well. i am very grateful for the results that meditation have opened me up to in life. There is much that is inside us that we only are dimly aware of. Recently i read an article on Brain Jones who died in 1969 it brought many memories back surrounding those years (late 80's and early 90's). But we can become more and more aware of many higher realms then those on which ghosts are dwelling as well. Just remember that!

He said to me; ..' I died Steve, on the day of your birth. 'When this you see, remember me and please don't judge me too harshly. '  (actually it was a few hours earlier on the previous day according to legal records.)

Sometime, most ‘seekers’ have unusual experiences that prove to us there is much more to this life then what meets are site, touch, smelling, vision and hearing. When those type of experiences happen we never forget them and they add to the richness of our lives. They inspire us to meditate and keep up with our psychic and spiritual practices. We have so much to develop in ourselves that we have barely touched upon. Life is full of mystery and talents yet to uncover in ourselves!
