It is interesting to me and i will share some of the things i have heard:

Many times the things i have heard in meditation have been disciplinary in nature. How sweet dscipline can be! i can be 'slightly falling asleep' and hear a deep drum sound or a tap on the shoulder or a voice that says: "steve" Two days ago i meditated at the Lake Shrine a very audible voice said: "sit up straight". Presently i do not know where all these 'communications' are coming from but they are definately inspirational, 'audible' and they keep me listening!  Sometimes i hear music or words and astral music. Sometimes i am awakened by a voice so that i can meditate before work. There are so many revelations in meditation! Despite all the 'dry periods' it is worth it! We must have faith when we are moody and gloomy; God knows our efforts!

i believe that God often communicates thru silence. We may not have much time for meditation but suddenly wake to this incredible stillness or find such a place. At these times i believe God is inviting us to communicate with him in meditation.
