I  have never known before where the energy  comes from that sustains our body but Paramahansa Yogananda explained it in the lesson on the energization exercises. You cannot revive a dead corpse by stuffing it with food. But you can with cosmic energy. He explains that the energy which sustains our body comes from the cosmos. It enters the medulla oblongata and goes  through the nervous system and sustains the 100 trillion cells in our body. If we practice the energization exercises with concentration we can draw this energy into the  medulla oblongata and into the whole body vehicle and recharge our selves with cosmic energy. Think of the unique spiritual advantage we have. These exercises are the unique contribution that Yogananda created and contributed to our ability to recharge the body battery with cosmic energy.

i am a byproduct of Paramahansa Yogananda's genius. This body vehicle was transformed. All the cells in this body were transformed into a healthy state where as  before the blood pressure was out of balance and in a dangerous state.
