Amma and Meditation

Amma explains that we should have enthusiasm towards meditation like a fish out of water. That fish will do everything to flip back towards the sea; it’s home. The longer it I away from the sea the closer will be the time for its death.

Or like a hair or dust particle that’s in our eyes. We will do everything to get it out.

This is the enthusiasm we should have towards meditation. If we wait for the Arabian Sea to be calm so we can take a bath in it…this will never happen. So in the same way we must make an effort to meditate.

Amma says that meditation will give us ‘peace of mind, prosperity and spiritual upliftment.’ It is as valuable as gold. In fact it is like fragrant gold and gives us compassion. For liberation we need the passport of meditation and for grace we need the visa of seva or service  to others.
