Chakras and light

I have given alot of attention and thought to chakras and noticing light in meditation. I used to hear of this when I was a young man but witnessed nothing visually accept darkness. I would often meet people who could see auras. As the years passed I slowly witnessed light primarily from Jyoti mudra which is a technique given in the SRF lessons but also occasionally for the higher Keira’s also given in the SRF lessons. No doubt others have had experiences because of other similar spiritual exercises.

What I have noticed personally is at first seeing a blatant yellow light that would soon diminish most... likely because my calm focused concentration still needs development. But I have also noticed at times being able to go at a deeper level and seeing a beautiful bluish purple that is like no earthly color. It gives a distinct feeling of spiritual awakening but then like a butterfly not staying in one place it would diminish from my presence. Paramahansa Yogananda refers to the light of the third eye as the gateway beyond opening up to the whole physical cosmos and beyond to others realms. Perception of the third eye brings vast awakening beyond this physical world and its limited awareness.

I noticed there are quite a few videos on YouTube covering jyoti mudra. I know from being around people who meditate that there is often this attitude; ‘If you like lights why not turn on a flashlight?’ But the soft lights in meditation-even if seen infrequently- are quite different then those seen in the harsh light of physical manifestation. They give a focus as well to go deeper into consciousness.

This is similar to the color I saw when I was receptive accept more beautiful and alive.....

We do need to keep meditating to have experiences of beauty and bliss that surpass the worlds beauty. Otherwise we will have nothing to compare and always settle for second best which is worldly beauty.

It is true that such experiences such as seeing the light or astral projection are still phenomena and for enlightenment to occur we must go beyond phenomena. My point is that it is possible to stay on the astral realm and eventually transverse the astral and causal realms not having a compulsion to come back to the physical realm to fulfill unfulfilled desires here that  cannot be fulfilled anywhere else but here. For instance; one cannot fulfill the desire for certain kinds of food or to be rich and famous in the higher spheres because those experiences are no longer necessary to the permanent inhabitants of the astral and causal spheres.
