And I thank you very much for that, may we be able to be spectators and play our role in this cosmic drama without becoming too engrossed and attached to it.

Remembering to practice meditation even when personal and worldly events distract us from our real purpose that we came into this life for; Self Realization and Enlightenment.

The best guidance we can get is not from others but from the divine. Meditation can give us insight into our daily problems and help in solving challenges with others. Almost every time I meditate I ask for guidance in solving my worldly problems. We also have to learn patience and endurance in all things. Time often is a great healer and helps us understand our own thoughts and attitudes. We have to learn patience with ourselves and others, this is part of the journey to enlightenment.

Everybody seems to look for a fast fix in politics and in their personal lives. But meditation teaches us patience in all things. Often we don’t want to be patient with others but eventually we learn that God and guru are being patient with us as we are given many lessons to overcome our own errors in judgment and practical matters in life.

I would add that 'meditation time' is always a great healer.

Its strange (or perhaps not?) that problems are often met with an unwillingness to meditate or maybe shorten our meditation with the idea that it's too hard when our consciousness is ruffled. This happened to me the other day after a surprising anxiety producing incident. I pushed through and forced myself to meditate even though I was agitated. I asked for guidance and help, as you suggested Steve, and meditation was much deeper than I expected and the next day the repercussions of the incident simply melted away.

I agree with you, that often we need to ‘push forward’ our meditation even though we ‘don’t feel like it’ but I do recall reading and hearing advice that sometimes we can be so obsessed with a problem that it is better to sleep it off and wake up with a different attitude. And often if I have difficulty with meditation I resort to ‘practicing the presence’ a lot after such challenging circumstances and find that often helps also. Because I’m quite aware that it is difficult 😞 to meditate when worldly problems engulf our minds. I think though that after years or maybe life times of meditation practice we become more free of letting worldly problems take over our consciousness, but rather see them for what they our; part of the delusion of letting the world get the beat of us when in reality this too will pass.

What I do find is that reading something like this from you is quite a relief from other friends that do not make the effort at meditation and let their consciousness be disturbed 😳 and stirred up by the worlds turmoil.

I attempt to be in the presence of others who meditate as much as I possibly can. I appreciate your help in encouraging meditation ‘web’ and sharing your experiences! I find that being in your presence here as the most helpful way to be encouraged to meditate recently. That was the main purpose of my life this incarnation and I hope to ‘keep on track’ regardless of the many distractions that have pulled me in other directions.

I get inspiration from you and Mccoy too so it's a symbiotic relationship. It's only really been the past few years that I have gone chronic on my meditations. I was always serious about meditation since beginning on the path, but the last few years I've had time to really get stuck into it and now I have a glimpse of what may be possible. It really does require an incredible amount of discipline but as has been stated by others, the more lamb like we become in following Master the happier we become. I find this to be all so true no matter the strict routines needed to be of good service, to give our love where needed and to practice the pranayama of our Guru.
