Sometimes,  it is not good to serve others because there are karmic lessons involved. Often the times we are deprived of what we think we deserve to help us understand what we can do without. In the end it is not how people have lifted us materially but rather spiritually. Because we can take nothing with us when this life is through. We only can take what we have developed in ourselves. Nothing more.
