Kriya is an amazing tool to silence the mind to a greater or lesser degree depending on circumstances leading up to meditation, as Steve has pointed to. This morning for example I had a somewhat hard time in the preliminary techniques and even struggled with thoughts when doing my kriyas, so I guess there was that expectation that stillness is going to be tough. And monkey mind did roll on somewhat but there was also profound stillness and even a little bliss intermixed in there. When I looked at the clock I had exceeded the allowed period and I was somewhat amazed at how quickly it all passed. I then felt a strong connection in the ensuing devotional period, although I'm a little loathe to mention these things as it is very private and I'm conflicted as to whether I should even press "post".
