Wanting to be Right

I found that people often rationalize and try to manipulate their own circumstances, so that they can still be right in a given situation. I feel that this is a result of ego manifesting in justifying our own ego to make things right according to us. This is the behavior of dictatorial types and those who must be right at all costs. You find this in controlling types.

Sometimes we just need time to press the ‘pause’ button and spend time alone when the presence of too many energies have infiltrated our energy field to the point we are unable to integrate the energies around us and we must find our own space of peace again. At these times it is best to ignore  (for the time being) the vibrations of so many distractions that take us away from our spiritual core and inner moments of peace. I have found myself in times of being so involved with others trying to make their point about various issues that come up or that have little or no spiritual value they have found themselves, that I loose my focus on what I’m doing in my life and what I’m attempting to accomplish. While others may attempt to control the environment and the situations they encounter in themselves, their circumstances and the people in their life.

At times we have to step away from the darkness that others have let permeate their spiritual aura and nourish our own so we can be an effective force for ourselves and as a result for others as well. It may be that I myself let other dark forces dampen my spirits. Regardless of how and from what source these shadows originate, they are a calling to find my inner connection before I enter into outer communication. We can often find ourselves defending others and ourselves because of the onslaught of dark forces around us. When in reality we ourselves can be a beacon for spiritual light and not be subdued by the forces of maya attempting to subvert our inner realization and recognition. It is important to recognize that there are evil forces and spirits that exist and knowingly or unknowingly attempt to dampen our spirits.

It is also important to balance the presence of powers around us with our own positive energies and recognize just how much we can allow others, however helpful others may be, into our own orb of soul perception. People bring with them helpful service but at times even their presence can drain our energies, when they are beset with their own emotions and problems. We also may find that they are drawn into some kind of life style or personal agenda, or people that limit their ability to move forward, and at times can pull us away also from expanding and moving forward. Going on and on and on about certain topics or thought forms. Somewhat like circular reasoning.

Good insight Steve- I particularly like that you take some responsibility by acknowledging your involvement and questioning if the result of your environment could be from your own actions. I would add that not only do we defend others as you have suggested above but we easily blame others while seeming unaware that it is our own attitudes and energy responsible for of our misery. A lot of it, I think, comes from taking up arms over propaganda. Like fretting about politicians and their dress codes when instead there is much nectar to be drawn from the immediate reality before us.

Eric I’m not sure you understand the pettiness involved in some of the comments I’ve made, regarding the ideas and rules people make, for those around them. For instance I was kicked out of school in junior high school for having hair over my ears. The principal made up an arbitrary rule that no one could have hair growing longer than on top of their ears. I asked the simple question why? His answer; Because I said so. This is the type of dress code I was faced with at the time. You have asked; Does it affect you now? Yes it affects me but I believe in a way that is protecting the rights and choices of others to make their own decisions without the impositions of others. Which means I care about the rights of others. I this case not my own.

Also one of my best friends Karen was kicked out of school for wearing jeans as a girl. ‘Anybody should know girls wear dresses’ Right?

I would add that not only do we defend others as you have suggested above but we easily blame others while seeming unaware that it is our own attitudes and energy responsible for of our misery. It's unfortunate, and I can assure you times have definitely changed. Standards are so loose now with some of these public schools, I have seen thongs and underboobs- I have seen hair so long, and that same head of hair entirely shaved off on the other side. I say this living next to a public school and working with teenagers. I'm amazed what is permissible nowdays. Of course there are schools and institutions that have their own standard for dress too. I guess it depends where you find your self. We have had to send some of the kids home and instruct them to dress more appropriate for work because they were wearing tight outfits with shirts saying things like, "Daddys princess" and skirts so short you could see their butt. No joke.  This hyper-focused superficial sexuality resulted in unpleasant energy and uncharacteristic behavior from customers and coworkers alike. I'm not talking silly flirtatious advances but worse... and these are children.

My view is that people should take some responsibility for their identity. What is an opinion if there is no one except a :'guest' behind it? It appears that someone has difficulty with their own identity.
