i was going to go back and edit::::::

i've felt the rush up and down the back before- where my entire being felt like it was vibrating and i was being lifted out of bed

i guess my question is
why does this happen? 

No doubt what you have experienced is a result of a release of kundalini in the astral spine.  On more than one occasion, i have experienced this while doing yoga and could not stand up. It was akin to a soothing light and electrical energy going thru my body. Not at all like the electricity you feel from a wall socket. It was very blissful. These initial experiences with the awakening energy are tastes of divine nectar that we never forget and they live with us when we experience more dry spells later in our sadhana when we have to work at spiritualizing our consciousness. Savor them and thank God that you are in his grace to have these things given to you.

When/if you see Amma in Texas you will see that she speaks much of these earth changes in her talks. Blessings/prayers to/for you....

i'm learning now that simply being around other receptive beings- or anyone in that case, is a form of channeling. ok so a few nights ago i had a dream that leads me to believe i am channeling mother earth. i woke up at 3:33AM
it was also an answer to a prayer-
i asked- what was this pain in my head? why?? (perhaps this is the pineal gland evolving)
i won't go into the dream but i will try to cap what it is i received-

she said- whenever and whatever we're going through- our emotional response to experience is not ours alone. the experience belongs to the earth- and so- how we feel is but a reflection of what it is mother earth is undergoing-
a reflection of great change
