Again: do we have a context? Is this just recounted in a book or do we have hard, indisputable evidence?
I can say that Mussolini did a lot of great things in Italy before allying with Hitler. I would be saying the truth. But this would not by any means mean that I am a supporter of Mussolini. On the other hand, I am a strong critic of the second part of his life. The 1st part though was very positive and Mussolini was admired as a statesman even by the British.
So, everything must be kept in context. If the above is true, was Trump being supremely ignorant or was he really admiring the massacre of the Jews perpetrated by Hitler and his minions? I'm actually smiling, because the former is pretty likely. Ignorance. But ignorance is not exactly the same as admiration of genocide.
Again, it all seems part of a consolidated demonization scheme.
