I find myself eating less and less wheat and legumes, and embracing yogurt with maple syrup or honey and fresh fruits. It is a lighter more spiritual diet and keeps my weight lower also.
That's my summertime diet, in the day, fresh fruit and fresh, cold dairy products, mainly kefir and yogurt. At dinner, veggies, nuts, some legumes and bread, some cheese or tofu.
Legumes and whole cereals are sattvic though and good for longevity. Provided that the amounts are suited to one's digestive power, like SY wrote and, of course, one's metabolic necessities.
In nutrition, there are some general rules good for everyone and there are many individual rules to respect. Sri Yukteswar made it clear, we should find a sattvic diet that is suited to ourselves, then forget about the diet.
