Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

Dr. Gundry is a cardiologist who turned to diet influencer. I would not advise to follow his suggestions, since there are far better sources.

In his first book, the plant paradox,  he basically suggested not to eat many plant-derived foods since they contain natural toxics such as lectins and others. This is a wrong sphere of thought, for many reasons, and the initial error is that some people are actually made sick by these vegetable compounds. The majority though si made healthier by the same compounds.

In his successive books he perhaps evolved some of his ideas for the better.

Again, some people are far more into God's sphere of thought of healthy nutrition.

I’m happy to hear you feel this way. It just seemed somewhat high pressured and more like an advertisement which recommended the abandonment of some of my favorite foods and those that I thought to be healthy like tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes and whole wheat bread. I would have to have more evidence then just hearsay to change diet so radically.

When someone tells me I can eat anything I want just avoid some foods that you have been told were healthy by many of the authorities we have followed…. and to leave meat  products and all fish products in your diet it runs contrary to every eastern monastery I’ve been at all my life. He has quite unusual ‘theories’ about the invasion of the digestive track that seemed at least plausible I wonder if some diets like this are effective for some people. With my observation of people who eat meat and pork regularly it seems unlikely. And I wonder about the restlessness that for instance Paramahansa Yogananda has told us multiple times; it makes meditation and calming the mind’s activities very challenging. Not to speak of the environmental impact posed by heavily meat consuming nations. I often wonder if such diets are in part responsible for the lingering affects of the darkest Kali Yuga we were passing through about 500 years ago? I know people will rationalize the use of anything and everything to satisfy their lust and greed for deleterious substances and foods.
