"In spiritual life, you only take what you need, you don't accumulate what you want. Spiritual life essentially involves keeping the mind in check. In mundane life, our mind is affected by everything that is part of the rapidly changing world around us - constantly rambling thoughts about something from the past, or imagining/worrying about what might happen in the future, constantly feeding our ego and desires.
