Steve, yes, I was thinking about it just yesterday. The long game. One incarnation is just one tiny amount of the evolutionary process we go through in our human lives.

It is probably so that only highly evolved ones achieve a stable state of God-awareness, sometimes even ultra-evolved souls may skip an incarnation or two and go without uplifting spiritual experiences.

It may also be that the living presence of the guru may be necessary to overcome karmic states of restlessness which prevent us to experience superconscious states in a specific incarnation.

Anyway, again, it is a long game, what we sow remains in the ground and we are going to reap eventually the result of our efforts.

I came across Kriya Yoga early in life and if there is any justice in life I have a strong conviction that karma is that justice. Since I had this strong conviction early in life I came to the decision to practice Kriya meditation early in life even if it is 14 Kriya which really amounts to seven minutes of time. I see Kriya as the best way to absolve ourselves of challenging karma. For those with spiritual aspirations, usually we have done such spiritual practices in other lives so our current life has a strong destiny and we align ourselves to dharma as early and as soon as we understand how this process works.

Part of that dharma is to encourage others in their spiritual practices. I know you were with Amnandamoy who spent time in the physical presence of Paramahansa Yogananda. So I wonder if you heard this account by him; I heard him mention more than once about many of his early accounts with the Master. This one in particular I felt of importance to my meditation, because many times it is difficult to meditate without the peace of a meditative environment. He said that when he was at the Hollywood temple in the early days, there was a gas station nearby and that he could often hear the hammering of tools in the garage which made it difficult to meditate. However he continued his meditation regardless. And I’ve tried to keep this in mind when for instance I drove a semi. At many parking areas I was close to the highway where the relentless rush of traffic continued it’s humm and background noise to my meditations.

At times we have crossroads in our life, either events or people who are like sign posts that help us make the right decisions that follow our dharma or we make decisions that do not affect us in the future towards are dharma, and a righteous path. We must be constantly vigilant of what life patterns will bring us in accord with are dharma and which ones will not.
