When we meditate regularly, day by day, we notice differences in our thoughts and emotions when we curtail or decrease our practice. We may find that irritation and frustration become more manifest without the regularity of meditation. If we fall too far away from the practice we can even become irrational and eventually hostile, which leads to anger.

This makes sense to me.  When I don't get time to center, I'm not my best self, and become easily irritated and generally unhappy with myself.  Meditation centers me and helps me be in contact with the self I most like to be ~

In the last two years, I was forced to curtail very substantially my meditation time. There was no anger or irrationality, but of course, I feel something is missing.

Mccoy do you think there is any way you can distract your son while you meditate? Perhaps have him wash dishes or play the keyboards while using earphones. Or maybe mimicking you when you are energizing? I noticed,  are unusual visitors—the trolls here have no helpful advice accept to mock us. Seems as though some people have no better activities to do then to attempt to bring others to their attention; while at times i get done meditating and feel euphoric.

Yea Joy , thanks for your contribution. What I’ve also noticed is that you can sit there and feel your putting all this energy and focus into prayer, a mantra or an extended practice and feel you are not getting anything from it and then walk away and have all these fantastic insights about life, about your experiences with others and insights about why you have attracted many experiences in your life. It is peculiar, but if you hope or expect for certain results you may have had at one time, you may get something entirely different. As if to prove to you how little you really know about meditation or the grace that is provided by its practice.

Jitendra, that is an interesting experience you have sometimes!  But I can agree that when I start thinking I "understand", the scene can change enough to assure me that is NOT the case, lol

Maybe you have discovered that our understanding itself also has its own self imposed circumference.

It's not so simple, he's usually restless and must be constantly supervised since does not engage in a single activity for long; when I don't supervise him I have a backlog of things to do, including taking a nap because nightly sleep is often interrupted. I had to reorganize my day but all is good presently since the extraordinary mental instability he exhibited at the beginning has subsided substantially now, due no doubt to the combined effects of pharmacological intervention and favourable environmental stimuli.
And, I would add, maybe the intervention of some good astral entity who listened to my prayers.
