I am a cosmic keeper
i take flight every night
flying thru the sky
flying way up high
my job is to polish up the stars
to keep them shining bright
we must be able to see them
from very very far
every big bright shiny star!
for they are the special feature of the night
to be seen by every creature on the ground
so...they all must be found!
i have to work very fast
cause the nightime does't last!
I mustn't get lazy-
they could get dirty and hazy,
and would't it be a pity
if you could't see them from the city!
I use a magic potion to polish up the stars
i have to stay in motion
and travel very far
we need to see every little twinkle
of every little star!
the potion is made of the energy
from the laughter of a child
it's just a pile of love
that gets directed to above!
so i cannot let them hide
we need them as our guide
to see us thru the night
with there gleaming twinkling light
to help us get from place to place
all of us on earth
and those in outer space
