My most favorite quotes from Sri Yukteswarji (above, see my OP in this thread) on the "economy" of karma and astrology are the ones, pointing to the freedom potential we all have. This also touches on the idea of a supposed free will. Long story short, according to my understanding, man (and woman) only have one option to escape all our earned karmas from previous and the current incarnation in what has been named as "ishvara pranidhana" (i.e. turning to God) by Sage Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras.
The masters show the way to enlightenment. Either we have that urge in us, or we don't. If we don't, then only prayers by, and interventions of realized masters, or the Lord himself (herself) can save us from our own earned karmas, which usually reverberate around things like our own thoughts, words, and actions motivated by our Egos to be loved, to be strong, healthy, and happy in all earthly respects.
So, IMO we shouldn't call our astrologer, but the Lord himself to redeem us of our own self-made miseries.
Just sayin'.
The Lord does not always come in direct contact with devotees but thru his intermediaries and can in fact respond in an indigent street hobo. Some times we need not even call God’s chosen spokesmen in any given event. The Lord is merciful enough to intervene without such inquiries. I have certainly witnessed such help from such seemingly humble sources. I am always grateful for the help of human beings. And I recall once asking Amma to help me with deciding which course to take when I had melanoma stage 4. She simply replied; follow your Doctors advice. Thank God I did so because at the time I was completely cured. Choose the path that suits you. We all must learn in our own time and way.
