Recently I reflected on my life journeying through spirituality, and noticed a relative bittersweet point in my spiritual journey. I say bittersweet because it has not been all smooth sailing, nor all spiritually enlightening. Yet I see how we/I seem to be affected by various environmental and astrological factors that have been instrumental in influencing my thinking, decisions and actions in whether I felt elevation, disappointment in myself, or inertia in practice.

I have found that nature and pilgrimage in nature, mostly by camping hiking, and  energization in nature as helped tremendously in encouraging spiritual development and practice as well as keeping a close relationship with others that have a spiritual bent in one way or another.

I too share this feeling about nature. When walking for example with my son on the beach, off-season, I look at the sea and can imagine with no effort that it is just the background of a video game and the thought goes to the programmer of the video game, automatically. This world is clearly a simulation.

My instinct would be to sit and meditate, although I can't do that now. I used to do that when I was younger, with no bonds of family or relationships.

This may be a shot in the dark mccoy but I would like to give you what came to my mind when thinking of you today. Perhaps 🤔 one of the reasons life has turned into this for you…. It may be to help you develop compassion towards those having to ‘take care’ of others with less ability then themselves. The ‘welfare state’ is not as easy at it is often thought of by many people and is an important service of society to those less fortunate then ourselves. Just a thought and perhaps not appreciated or applicable.
