As spiritual aspirants we can help these situations by being aware of such tragedies and praying for these people and situations. In my travels with Amma she was not only aware of such situations but would personally travel to them as they occurred, where possible, and help the needy with food and shelter. We also know of, for instance many musicians who have helped in relief of war torn and violent conflicts by giving free concerts to remedy some of the suffering. Some actors have even gone to war torn areas to support soldiers. And musicians have also performed at prisons to take away some of the pain associated with societies judgement. I can name some right now that come to mind;

Elvis Presley
George Harrison
Jackie Chan
Willie Nelson;

The tribute celebrates the contributions Nelson has made during his lifetime, including his longtime support of our nation’s farmers through Farm Aid, established in 1985, which has raised over $70 million for those who own and operate family farms throughout the United States. He has also helped raise millions around disaster relief, for families of the victims of the 9/11 attacks, and for veterans, as well as working toward environmental and animal advocacy, and voting rights. This does not even include the acting they ( the actors I’ve mentioned above) have done to understand the heroism the terror associated with violence.

Amma has been a great advocate of helping all major global developments that have been of a tragic nature and how to pray and help remedy them.

Without the media we would not know of other people’s sufferings so I have a different perspective to reply here; although I do concur that such reports of atrocities to babies at be completely fabricated to promote a a certain narrative and viewpoint. I saw that a lot here in the states with fake news to keep Trump in power. And I’m quite sure it happens in other countries as well, especially those in which freedom of views and reporting is not allowed.

I thought it might interest some of you that though Brother Bhaktananda was considered ‘the highest monk on the hill’ by Brother Turiyananda and others… I was there at the Hollywood Temple in the mornings sometimes and saw him reading the newspaper 🗞️ to apparently be aware of world events. I also found that the Brothers and monks of SRF quite informed and often quoted the news media when giving their sermons.

There are some very good investigative journalists, especially in the States. I would bet my soul though that Bakhtananda and the other monks exercised their discrimination when reading the newspapers, as every one of us should do. Also, we all know that some newspapers are biased because they are ruled by specific political influences.

Here in Italy, the media considers the reports of atrocities on babies by Hamas reliable. They do not argue that extreme atrocities like decapitation have been committed.

Some of them though argue that such atrocities are the result of the policy of Israel. Which in a sense is true, karmically speaking.
