In my travels with Amma she was not only aware of such situations but would personally travel to them as they occurred, where possible, and help the needy with food and shelter. We also know of, for instance many musicians who have helped in relief of war torn and violent conflicts by giving free concerts to remedy some of the suffering. I can name some right now that come to mind;
Johnny Cash
Elvis Presley
George Harrison
Jackie Chan
Willie Nelson;

He has also helped raise millions around disaster relief, for families of the victims of the 9/11 attacks, and for veterans, as well as working toward environmental and animal advocacy, and voting rights. The tribute’s proceeds benefit the endowment.
