Before getting pregnant with her son, Hanna said she noticed a dent in her breast and went to the doctor. However, the doctor misdiagnosed it, saying the abnormality was benign, according to the report.

Less then a month went by and Hanna discovered she was pregnant. At an appointment with her OB-GYN, she said she asked the doctor to look at the dent again and the doctor determined that it was cancerous.

...At 14 weeks of pregnancy, Hanna said she learned that she likely had terminal cancer; her tumor was 13 centimeters and doctors believed the cancer probably was spreading to other parts of her body. She said she sought opinions from approximately 10 different doctors, and more than one advised her to have an abortion.

But “it was not necessary at all. My prognosis didn’t change. My treatment plan did not change — pregnant or not pregnant,” she continued. “Many people are not aware chemotherapy can be actually quite safe during pregnancy. I chose the middle road that I would do some chemotherapy with some modifications …”

While she underwent chemotherapy, Hanna prayed for healing regularly at the tomb of Blessed Father Solanus Casey, according to EWTN. She and her husband later named their son Thomas Solanus after him.

“I prayed at his tomb for me to be miraculously healed and for my son to come out beautiful and healthy,” she said.

Hoping to encourage others struggling with difficult pregnancies, Hanna also set up a social media page to share her story and ask people to pray.

“I thought no suffering should ever go to waste,” Hanna told EWTN. “I don’t know where God is taking me. Is he going to take me to the path where I need to show people how to die gracefully, with his grace and mercy? Or is he going to show a miracle?”

Hanna gave birth to a healthy baby boy – the first miracle. Then, doctors discovered that the chemotherapy had worked, and she was in remission – another miracle, she told EWTN.

And if not for her son, Thomas, Hanna said she might not be alive.

Eric you have provided a ‘pro-life’ advocates experiences with miracles in your link.  I will provide one of my own below, from a ‘pro-choice’ advocate; me. This one relates to some of the issues you provided above. I do not need a link or example from someone else on the experience, since it is my own. I made my own choice not to have a child of my own. And I’m glad no one has forced me to as is the present environment and lawful situation in certain social circles and states today. Especially quite a few forceful religious fanatics attempting to determine the fate and precautions of a conscious minded public able to make their own choices when the opportunity is available.

For me personally, I am fortunate to not have gone down the road of having chemotherapy or having a child to complicate matters further! I asked Amma for advice on terminal stage four melanoma cancer. She told me to follow my doctors guidance. The doctor I chose gave me a choice between chemotherapy and immunotherapy; I chose immunotherapy and the blessings of Amma and the practice of yoga and the energization exercises most my life. Also praying as this women did that you speak of above. Fortunately for me I did not choose the route of having a child. I was fortunate to be completely cured of Melanoma.

If it were not for the conscious choice not to add more of an invasive species to Mother Earth I may have had children. And, added to an already existing overpopulation problem that most human beings - in my opinion - ignorantly continue to encourage.

Everyone needs to be responsible not only to their own life but to the life of our planet and our already existing children and what kind of world they will live in. I’m not here to tell other people how to live and I doubt that you are either Eric. But you have your personal choice and I have mine. Hunan choices have made the current situation we have in the world today. We are both witnesses to it. Miracles come in different ways some add to the already existing challenges and others minimize them. I leave that up to your karma and choices in the matter. My hope is that you will do the same with others, and that others will also give people the opportunity to make their own choices, without enforcing their moral edicts on the populace. In an effort and attitude of belief they know what’s right for others.

I support ‘pro-life’ for our planet; Mother Earth,  After all how can she make the choice on her own without our support and help? I support ‘pro - choice’ for the stewardship to our planet; Mother Earth and find those who attempt to force their will on others as tyrants and bullies who perhaps make poor choices for themselves; yet they attempt to make choices for others as well. If it wasn’t for the fact I chose not to have a child, I might have not been alive today. And, if we don’t have pro-choice ‘ today ‘, we may not have Mother Earth to live on ‘ tomorrow ‘.

Hi Steve,

What captured my interest with the original post is not the issue of pro-life or pro-choice, but the womans humility and the power of prayer. By her own questioning, she said... Do you want me to show others how to die gracefully? Well, that just blows my mind. I hope I die gracefully when the time comes. She didn't know the outcome- but she remained steadfast in her Faith, she accepted even death and exemplified poise in a troubling situation. But she didn't die, her beautiful child was born and her cancer was cured.

God is great.

As you know, I recently asked for prayers concerning a kidnapping situation in Mexico. I asked for them from my 1111 family too. He was safely returned home. I believe in miracles and the power of prayer.
