Most likely because Paramahansa Yogananda was allowed to talk with God and actually got answers. I’ve seen other miracles happen with the grace of Paramahansa Yogananda’s blessings so I have no reason to disbelieve his assertions. I have heard how he dealt with traditional Christians and their view of him, and after being exposed to it, I take inspiration at times from other traditional Christian people even though my view is often quite different.
