Yeah, that's really sad. It seems we have a reputation of abandoning allies while making profits off war.

The United States has changed Allies over the years, quite like many, if not most countries in the world. We should take into account that Allies like friends often change over the years. That does not necessarily mean they were abandoned. It may just mean they grow apart in their views and interests. Abandoned is a strong word which should be supported by examples to be believable.
