Bad News

A very close friend of mine was scammed today out of $5000.00, basically all the money this person had left.

This person I have known for a long time. Goes out of the way to help others, and I mean way out of the way, doing things for others I don't do, things I should do.

The scammers had this person really scared, sincerely scared, and ended up sending money.

2 things.

1) If I ever find someone who does things like this to others, I'm going to tear their heart out.

2) There is no reason for this to happen. I don't care what PY says about karma, or what any religion says about why these things happen. It is all speculation and unproven.

This person is literally shaking from disbelief, shock, questions about humanity, about ones own sanity, the list goes on. There is no reason for this to happen. 0.

All it does is spark fires in others about the compassion of this planet. Yes let's meditate and ignore the world. For a while anyway.

Everyone makes poor choices at some time in their life, me included. We can also question our faith, but at other times, many people have made the best choices and those choices yielded quite different outcomes. How we react and what happens in the future is also determined by our choices. My life and yours is determined by choices we make because of what you call ‘bad news’. I’ve also missed some wonderful opportunities because I have had some ‘bad news’. Life for me is for learning. From the mistakes of ourselves and those around us.

scamming: good people are a favorite target of scammers. Such people exhibit the demonic traits of deceit and manipulation. It's all part of the deal, we are in a world where saints and demons live together, and from the outside they are similar. Sometimes it's tough to make out the devils.

I will say this was not a matter of making poor choices.

And part of the deal is not what I/we signed up for, I mean, why would I?

This scam-boy literally had this person scared. Listen. Scared. The belief that what was being said was truth. We all fall for what others shove down our throat as what is truth and what isn't. And we all perceive differently.

What bothers me is that there is no reason for this to happen to someone who is vulnerable, for reasons that may be physical, mental, unfamiliar with deception and combine that with medium understanding of the spoken language. I don't see a reason. The explanations are just theories. Spiritual leaders always find some answer that works for them. And people follow it because they are "Spiritual leaders". Doesn't anyone else see thru this and question it or am I alone out here? What's the deal with blindly accepting answers that are theoretical?

Unfortunately, as you say, I have no better answer than ' This is part of a deal we didn't sign'.

The fact that your friend was born naive and vulnerable to scamming may have been a karmic feature, some lingering trace of similar actions he made to others in other lives. Nobody really has an answer, in this plane are gathered together saints and demons, in other planes it is not so.

The karma answer is still theoretical. There is a truth for why this happened. But I don't think punishment/classroom lesson for past actions is the reason. There is something else at work here. And I will eventually get to the bottom of it, if it takes an eternity.

The karma answer could satisfy in a logical manner your doubts. As other answers maybe could be as well. I found that the karma answer is far more powerful than other theoretical models to explain with sheer logic and degree of probability the events unfolding in this realm.

Of course, there might be other logical answers, in your case it might have been a more or less random encounter with a victim, a good, naive man and a predator, a callous, evil materialistic man who does not mind inflicting pain on others . This answer may be logical since in this earthly plane good and evil souls coexist.

Mccoy since your answer shows a cause and effect relationship that has its basis in physics and it is the answer given by all spiritual Masters I find it much more tenable. It is known as ‘causality’; in physics and karma in spiritual terms. Interestingly enough, Paramahansa Yogananda gives another cause / effect relationship in spiritual practice. If you practices one Kriya properly it absolves you of one year of natural evolution. Or in other terms the causes are wiped out so you have to face less and less effects of causes initiated in this and other incarnations.

To attempt to know all the causes initiated in this and thousands of past lives, it is necessary to have a Masters awareness which we are attempting to accomplish in our efforts here in this incarnation and perhaps many other incarnations on earth. Pain has been the prod to remembrance in my life and many personal experiences seem unjustified looking at things that have happened to me in this life. Yet, at no time have I turned my back at the explanation for such events in the lives and explanations of the Masters. And by their grace we can get rid of much of what we have created in our actions and create new actions through Kriya and our sadhana to reap effects that we would rather see manifest.

Lots of theory and opinions here that are being stated in a universal truth fashion.

I will find the truth without settling for less, and without digressing into matters that will obviously never bring truth itself.
