Some kind of port owned the towers before 911. There was asbestos galore in the buildings, ceiling tiles, elevator shafts, wrapped around plumbing/electrical, etc. The cost to retrofit would be astronomical, way more than the towers are worth.

Then 6 months B4 911, some guy bought them. Someone who has $$$ and more than likely knows the asbestos issues. Of course all that would have to be disclosed. This man specified that the insurance must have a terrorist clause, you have to specifically add that. Why would anyone do that in 2001? Then he gets $$$ from the insurance after 911, way more than enough to rebuild.

Problem solved. And as a bonus, we get a reason to fck with other countries for their oil.
