This is one of those songs that most always brings tears to my eyes. Have we not all at one time been in this position? Or maybe it’s just that God has a familiar love towards us?

Imagine my surprise seeing you post the same song the very next day. What are the chances?

We don't always know how or why these sychronicities happen, but we can feel there is something/someone deeper behind it all. Maybe it's just Gods way of letting us know He's paying attention...

Iam Tongi kind of reminds me of Israel Kamakawiwoʻole also known as Iz.

Iz died in 1997... Iam Tongi was born in 2004.
Could it be possible Iam is the reincarnation of Iz?



Anything is possible, we just have to open our Hearts to the possibilities...

I did check it out Eric. Not sure how seriously you want me to take your comments. This is an easy topic to comment on since it is rather innocuous but I would like to be honest with you as a friend, in as much as we should before the public. That is quite often you make light of your comments, thoughts and actions, and write them off as something you had done in jest. At times it seems like a way of releasing your self from responsibility with the views you have espoused. I do not mean to embarrass you and if I have I owe you an apology. Yet at times we do have certain views that we find later, do not really fit our growing attitudes, beliefs and opinions. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging it. I have had to make many revisions in my behaviors over the years to suit the garments I currently wear. And in many cases I am unable to mend the fabric I’ve torn and just had to let some people, ideas and situations blow out of my life.

In the simple case of IZ compared to Tongi; I would look at it more from a technical musical viewpoint. IZ had a lower pitch voice from the rather floating voice of Tongi. So I would ask do we change our expression from life to life. And I do not know the answer to that? Listen to Iz sing the phrase “Somewhere over the Rainbow” and then the baritone register of the word “Way” . Then listen to Tong sing the first phrase ”Turn down the light “ it gets an immediate reaction from Lionel Richie because the sound is incredibly lyrical in a higher register… it demands an immediate reaction and even his walking off stage is an emotional response that is accepted. IZ having quite a different affect on an audience. That is nevertheless appealing but in a quite different way.

You seem to be in your head Brother.  I have no clue what you're talking about with me.

If you think Iz is not the reincarnation of Iam, that is sufficient. But it sounds like you're saying you don't know. I like the questions you ask regarding the topic of reincarnation. If you can be a korean woman in a past life and a nazi solider in another, then it is entirely plausible as a musical artist that you can have different range and capabilities, and even attract a different audience in future lives.

I really enjoyed the “My little Pussie Cat “ in your link here. It’s incredible how SOME people can change their voice and personalities. Sorry I got the names mixed up in my last post so had to correct it. It may make more sense now. But it doesn’t seem like my observations are too helpful anyhow at this point. Does it matter if I have anyone ‘figured out’ Observations are just that and not always well received I must admit. It is not the first time you’ve told me “I have no clue what you are talking about’. 😊

I do not see cognitive dysfunction as ‘necessarily’ a personality dysfunction. We all have personality swings. I thing that when it affects our relationships we have to be more aware of its manifestation. That is my opinion.

Composition and inspiration

The idea for the song came to Reid while reading an article about a man arrested for getting drunk and shooting at his girlfriend's car. The judge asked him if he had learned anything, to which he replied, "I learned, Your Honor, that you can't make a woman love you if she don't."[6] Raitt recorded the vocal in just one take in the studio, later saying that it was so sad a song that she could not recapture the emotion: "We'd try to do it again and I just said, 'You know, this ain't going to happen.'"[7]

Thanks Steve, it's a practice for me not to take offense when others are inconsiderate(intentionally or unintentionally). And another practice not to feel this need to demonstrate their behavior back to them. I grew up with people that did that, and it's not a trait I want. Instead I hope to see things from a higher perspective which bridges the gap of duality. A practice and hope not to take things personal and still give others good intentions, it means sacrificing ego. It also means correctly discerning a moment and practicing boundaries if need be. I only think sometimes you poke fun at me and don't know it, other times it is my Ego that clouds the picture. But I am actually not talking about you in this statement, just that you've helped me make my own observations, and as you've just said-these aren't always well received.

But now to talk about you- It feels like earlier you were holding on to some upset and tried using this thread as an example when you wished to relay your personal assessment of me. When you said it's okay to drop the subject, I thought you meant it- so I said no problem. But it seems you weren't sure about that either. I get this weird impression you like to control the flow of the relationship between us. Do you think of me as a student or a friend? I hope the latter, and we needn't always relay our insight and wisdom to the other as if to teach. I can tell you, we have both gotten each other figured wrong over the course of years. What we interpret online is not the same as what we interpret on the phone, and I can only imagine what we interpret in person would blow away the many assumptions we've made about each other over our time writing and deducing in the manner we do on a forum.

People judge from their own attitudes dictated by so many things that don't actually define any of us.

And lastly, before I leave for the day-

I think about the subject of reincarnation. Didn't Yogananda say he was Alex the Great? The point being, similar traits does not always mean one is the incarnation of another- but sometimes there are similar traits that do hint to ones past life. But what matters is the individuals say in the matter, and whether or not reincarnation is even a thing of importance- it might be better suited for that person to discard the notion of reincarnation, in order to acquire the wisdom in their present form.

My point about it synchronicity and reincarnation being- God works in mysterious ways, and cares about each and every one of us. That it's a good practice to keep our Hearts open.

As you know i started the thread Eric so I really didn’t even know you would respond to it. You did by telling me about the synchronicity between both of us listening to the same song. I agreed because I believe that we often think about one another in our prayers.  I believe that we have common lessons together. And yes I do think my observations are not always well received. And yes I continued the subject even after I thought it was done. The reason being that I found more information on the song that I found fascinating. It also was written because of the lyricists observations of a news article the same way that John Lennon wrote the song; ‘A Day in Life’ I also channel lyrics and music but usually not from something I’ve read in the newspaper. I have this feeling that what I read their about local news is trivial. So it was rather fascinating to me that what I consider trivial can be made into such a great song.

I think that poking fun of you ‘intentionally or unintentionally’ as you have stated is an observation you’ve made and that it’s perfectly fine and may be true. It is a new development in this thread that could be a constructive analogue. I personally feel that sometimes some saints I’ve met in my life have poked fun at me. I personally found it humorous that they would even take an interest in me enough to make me a but of their joke or humor. Many people may read this and wonder how two people can go on and on in personal interaction and spin off on other unrelated topics. But what is more important than even the song we have discussed is our spiritual journey and understanding which requires a lot of introspection and self awareness.
