I can see how this could really fly off the rails if you're somewhat missing a few marbles as well. Kind of explains a lot of things, to me.

I also have a funny feeling that this can also be a vulnerable state and therefore a nice playground for demons, especially if you're still on a wavering path. Gotta be careful. Doesn't mean it's all spiritual.

Thomas Edison allegedly napped while holding brass spheres in his hands, which would noisily drop as soon as he fell asleep, waking him to capture sleep-inspired ideas. I'm going to try this method.

Having suffered sleep paralysis in my early 20's I can say that the effects of the mind are very strong in this state. Sleep paralysis is an in-between state where the body begins to shut down like a computer entering standby mode or "rest" mode. The difference here is our brainwaves are still oscillating at a faster state, our minds are awake while our body begins to shut down. This in-between state can be very confusing, and being in such a vulnerable state, the mind seems to propels itself towards a heightened state of fear likely a fight or flight survival instinct. Imagine, you are completely submerged in the dark- the senses you are so immediately identified with aren't operating normally, and you have no clue what's going on. 
(Rather, your senses are operating normally- only, you are aware of them operating whereas in sleep you are typically unaware)

It is very spiritual experience. Here you learn that you can navigate the experience by the power of your will. I am still fearful of some of my experiences. I remember, in my past, waking up while my body was still asleep- screaming for someone to help me. I remember seeing my roommate walking in the kitchen(I used to sleep in a dining room) and I would shout to him- why couldn't he hear me screaming? I would try slamming my head forward to no avail.
(Did I imagine him going to the fridge at night? No... I would ask him later and despite my physical eyes being closed, he would confirm I saw him correctly)

Here's what I learned that might help others. You can break out of this state if you don't wish to take it further.
It's a simple trick, but with a very high success rate.

Now that you know your body is simply entering rest, and your mind is still alert, you can calmly direct your awareness. Remind your self that you are experiencing sleep paralysis and tell your self you are going to wiggle your big toe. Using your mind, send your awareness to your toe and wiggle it. Your brain will start sending signals to your body, which will bring your body slowly but surely out of its rest mode and into a more alert state.

This has saved me at a time I was very fearful. I also shared this trick with others and they report it worked for them.

The demons I faced were of my own creation, and I didn't always know it. I have a lot of anger and a competitive shadow self that would confront me in the hypnagogic state. But what I learned in college was this was the window for an out of body experience.

As your body begins to shut down, you can relocate your POA. Point of awareness. Usually this resides in your head, behind your eyes. You can imagine pushing your self out of your body. This is how I learned to dislocate from my regular senses. You will notice all kinds of unique sensations... Typically they are,

a tingling sensation slowly creeping over the body
an intense metal whirring noise zeroing in around head
a feeling of rising or pushing out
a feeling of sinking or pushing in

Calm your self, assure your self... Focus on your breath and remember this is a golden opportunity.

As far as "splitting" topics, and/or taking a response and pasting it into a new topic.

I'm a data guy. I've worked with databases for > 22 years. I despise redundancy. That takes precedence over a single persons take on structural organization.

Also, there have been times where I've found one of my posts on another thread, and while it may be relevant, it is often taken to a different direction and often out of context.

SI in respect to your stated views above;  I intend to leave your posts where they are although they may or may not have any relevancy to the heading, topic and thread. In the case of this thread I have also left it here even though it does not fit the dictionary description below. I reserve the discretion to close threads when they become  way out of context to the heading or have a tenuous connection with the heading, so that we can find various topics at ease. As far as your experience with data based work for an extended time… What I have found so far is that those that have such experience have not been interested in creating a site that has endured with the specific interests of this sites stated purpose and goals. Lastly, i understand your ‘despise’ for redundancy and that is why I initially separated the thread here. Perhaps like you i was unable to find my original topic on hypnagogia. So I put it where it belongs according to the dictionary description below. Mccoy’s experiences were more related to OBE’s and that is why i created a thread for it in that section and separated from here.

TBH I had quite a lot of difficulty locating the thread I created on hypnagogia. I hope that at some point I will find it. Perhaps I put it in the wrong place or it was somehow deleted.  Your newly created one is under ‘Journey to the Edge of the Universe’ and that is where I am now writing. Mine is under ‘ Dreams and Sleeping’ because ‘hypnagogia’  is a state that is immediately before falling asleep as described in the Merrian - Webster dictionary below. In this way I was hoping to make it easy to find it for anyones specific reasons to put it where they have. In this sense redundancy serves a utilitarian purpose.

IMO, the site was always too complicated as there are too many top level headings, and many of those include child boards. The KISS principle always suited me. But that's just me. IMO. Create as many topics as you need to help you. But keep in mind not everyone shares your forum architectural choices. My choice for web development/format/layout is cater to the lowest common denominator. Something the www has forgotten over time.

I didn’t know he’d end up talking about the speckles on cat fish, in tropic waters.’

I think most people understand how forums work. Thread drift has been around since the BB days. I find it more confusing to have posts repeated in multiple threads. You won't find this happening on most forums. But again if you need help finding things or need help trying to understand why a topic has drifted, by all means do what you need to suit you.

Sure I agree with you about projection that is why it is so easy to see it in others. And by the way I have no powers to ‘allow’ anything. I’m really quite powerless to do anything on my own. But the more spirit manifests through us the more effective we are and allow the Holy Spirit to manifest through us instead of our egos - with a false sense of power and ability to allow for things. It is just that this site has over 5,000 topics now so things got out of hand. I admit the site was created with my interest in meditation and wound out to include so much, that it lost some of its purpose. Thousands of topics were deleted in the hopes to keep the original purpose of the site alive without too many distractions. I do hope that my guidelines for this site are helpful but I’m sure at times they fall short of being helpful.

Sometimes I use words poorly. I also do not always have the agility to come up with words that are more appropriate to describe myself and what I’m trying to convey and express. Nor the words to describe the attitudes of those around me. I think it’s interesting how the words we use often convey hidden attitudes. Free association has the ability to reveal behavioral quirks.

There are limits to organization as there are limitations to freedom to express. Sometimes it’s difficult to understand where though. I recently had challenges with a friend that wanted me to express how I felt. However when I told him he became very defensive and distraught, so go figure. By the way there is a thread on ‘Projection’ here at the portal under ‘Psychology’. You may or may not want to add your comments about the subject….
